We booked what was advertised as a tour of the distillery as part of an excursion whilst on holiday. Basically, we were shown into a tasting room, our tour guide (who in all other aspects was absolutely brilliant), pointed through a window to a didused copper still, gave a brief outline of the gin and liquours available and told us to try anything that we wanted from a range of bottles on the table. I have to say that the range available was impressive, and we were able to try any number of them. The tasting room is part of the shop, so you can then pick which ever drinks that you liked, from the shelves. The prices were very competitive.
I stress that this was advertised as a tour by the company offering the excursion, and not a tour advertised by the distillery. I would imagine that they are two different things. Anyway, whichever way you look at it, it provided an excellent "try before you buy" opportunity, and (despite the lack of a tour of the distillery in our case), it is very much worth a visit.
