You can walk as much or as little of the trail as you want. Please the right footwear as its amazing how many people you see that don't. The views are simple stunning and the paths are really well marked but i would advise taking a guide book with you. Cant wait to go back in October as we didn't complete it all. http://goo.gl/P5QNNC

We walked from Es Castell to S'Algar. I wouldn't say it's "spectacular" because this section, once past Cala de Sant Esteve, is largely between stone walls so views are limited - check out alternative paths here, e.g. via Fort Marlborough and Torre d'en Penjat, which may be a bit further but better coastal views (and old ruins).

If you have a good guide book, you can choose elements that match your footware, fitness and agility levels.
Routes take you along the route of the horses, not that we saw any, and is therefore not smooth underfoot

This path has been generally well marked and maintained, including gravity-shut gates of an excellent design to protect livestock. We walked perhaps a third of it (in both directions) because we couldn't work out all the logistics with busses and taxis, and swam in 9 different beaches around the island. We used a car from 3 different sites but that was largely to sample the local restaurants: the island is small enough that it would be possible to sleep in one place and walk the whole path.

Coastal path around the island of Menorca.
Walked the stretch between the resort of Cala N' Bosch and the old port city of Ciutadella a distance of just over nine miles.
The walk, which is fairly flat but very rough in places, is generally well marked and signposted however did find a couple of areas where this could be a little better.
