“A Good Spanish three-start hotel”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

Just came back from two weeks at the Reymar. Nice location - beach just across the road. Trains to Barcelona just under 10 eaurs return and would recommend going there. All staff on reception spoke good english and checked in quickly. Hotel nicely decorated and nice clean rooms. Cleaners in every day to make beds and change towels mop floors etc and always joyous and polite. Had a room at the front over-looking the pool area. Pool area spotlessly clean and mopped everyday by the hard-working cleaners. Entertainment every night english singer Simon Grant (great entertainment), spanish singers, brasil show and flamenco dancers. Entertainment finishes 11.30 p.m. no problem with noise - who goes to bed before then but beware beds do squeak every time you move. Not many children at this hotel mostly adults, dutch, swiss, french and not a lot of english but no problem as everyone got on and enjoyed themselves. Food was great - spanish streaky bacon, eggs (scrambled one day, fried the next, boiled etc) plus baked beans ok not english sausages but your in Spain! Lunch and evening meal runs through from 1 p.m. to 9.p.m which was great - you weren't tied to meal times and always found something to eat salads chips potatoes veg - ok plenty of pork but also some beef and chicken - paella wonderful. Restaurant Manager on the door always polite and cheerful and also the restaurant staff worked hard. Young barman always up for a laugh and all the barmen worked hard. All in all had a wonderful time and definitely would go back.

Room Tip: Avoid the side rooms on the road of this hotel as apparently there is a disco in the street and its...

Were there for a short trip in April, together with a footballteam for Copa Maresme. The rooms were basic equipped and clean. The food was very often served unappatizing. There are no free drinks for meal, just for breakfast very very sweet "juices" and coffee. But even if I eat vegetarian mostly, I can find something to eat. But most the time I eat french fries or Pasta. For every little thing you have to pay caution. 10€ for the tv controller, 10€ for the save key, 10€ per person for the room. The save is 4€ per day. And the Keycards for enter the rooms dont work very often. So you have to go to the reception to regenerate a new one. This happens minimum once a day. The waiters on the bar were not very organised. It happend almoust every evening, that we have to pay drinks twice. You can hear everything what from the neighbor rooms, and the doors shut only if you slam it very loudly, so it is very noicy. For a shirt trip this hotel is okay. But for a longer stay I would choose another one.

OMG......So much to say about this hotel I don't know where to start. On arriving at the hotel at 11 pm Fri 11th Oct ( We were firstly dropped off at the Reymar Playa Hotel which we thought we had booked) , we were given our card for the room no 532 and also had to pay 5 euros for their taxes. We went straight to the room to be welcomed by a weird smell.....which I can only describe as sewerage smell! Having had no food during plane and transfer trips, and arriving too late for hotel dinner, we had to go back out for pizza and chips ( which was lovely :-) ) . The following morning we woke up to a lovely sunrise....then went down for breakfast :-(. The choice being 3 types of cereal, bacon, fried egg, beans, cheese, bread, croissants, 2 tea and coffee machines and juice machine. There is no organisation...if there are no free tables you had to queue outside the dining room and wait to be let in when other people left!( We waited 20 mins one morning and after getting something to eat I pushed my plate away( dodgy black boiled egg) and walked out...had cooked breakfast at a local English bar :-). Dinner /evening meal was between 1 and 9pm which also had not much choice of food..salad, chips, chopped egg, little spicy sausages, sweetcorn, vegetable rice.....sliced baguettes but no butter! Another day was beef (I think) item card just said 'cow' ,another card said 'pig' ....what part of these animals we were trying to eat I do not know!!! The beds were horrible....you only had to move a leg in bed and it groaned, squeaked....kept thinking it was gonna collapse! We stayed for 4 nights and never slept properly all the time we were there...:-(. The bed sheets were never changed and beds were only made up on the 3rd day! The balcony looked like it hadn,t been mopped at all...drinks spillage marks all over, dust on headboard, door frame and wardrobe. I wish the Hotel Inspector could go there....she would have a field day!!! The hotel is situated across the road from the beach which is a plus side but the down side is the noise from the street and clubs til 3 am!! The only good thing about this holiday was the 'Sunshine' weather :-).

We stayed at this hotel Oct 2013, the staff were helpful on reception and spoke English, the room was cleaned everyday with towels changed daily the standard room was spacious with good views and air conditioning and balcony however there weren't enough plug sockets only 2 one of which being in bathroom. The entertainment was very loud bands and singers, we feltevening had to avoid the hotel until 11:30 when entertainment shut off and we could personallylly sleep, however noise outside at 3am when night clubs shut was very loud people shouting and screaming this is not the hotels fault though.
But worse by a country mile was the food, first off breakfast was not edible the selection was also poor small garlic sausages, beans and boiled eggs was the cooked selection, we had to eat out at local bars for a cooked breakfast everyday. The evening meals were again subject to poor selection, poor quality and over or undercooked meat hence food poisoning one evening. We will never stay at this hotel (hostel) again, best option is hotel papi personally.

good location, excellent night life beach across the road everything you might want is at hand , the hotel is very clean and the reception staff are very friendly and helpfull and they speak good english too. the only fault is the noise , mainly from the disco across the road ,and the fact the hotel has no carpeting doesnt help it realy is very noisy , but if your young and want to stay up till all hours go for it , if you like peace and quiet you have no chance .

me and my wife stayed at the reymar hotel 14 sept - 28 sept 2013... we found the reception staff very friendly and welcoming as if we were family...
our room was smallish but nicely decorated with a pool view...
cleaners entered our room every day, clean towels almost daily...
entertainment every night with bands from england, holland and poland i think, entertainment finished at 11.30 but drinkers stayed up till 1 ish...after that mostly quiet...
pool was very clean and tidy...
we did not eat in hotel as we were room only so we cant comment on food...
the beach is a short walk from the hotel via an underpass...
beach is shingle which is a little hard on the feet at first but the beach itself is beautiful...
we spent every day on the beach but found the sunbeds and brollys to be expensive at 475 euros each...
plenty of places to eat, kings tavern was by far the best for breakfasts, full english for 375 euros good size and very good quality, drunken duck (english bar) casa bella for the best chicken ever, just up from train station and el cortijo for a traditional spanish menu where everything is grilled on olive branches and the owners treat everyone like family...
avoid prius vilis where the wife had spaghetti bolognese which arrived 5 minutes after we ordered it and was all in one piece like a joke fried egg...
we loved every minute of our holiday in this hotel in malgrat de mar and the only bad thing was having to come home...

Room Tip: i would say pool view rooms would be quieter as there is a night club under the hotel just up street...
