I am writing this review as a follow up from one I published a few years ago. Having returned to A Gabeira during my last trip to Spain, I was once again very impressed with the quality, atmosphere and professionalism of Chef Miguel and those working at the restaurant. Being a party of four, we decided to go for the tasting menu. The quality, presentation, execution of the dishes were superb and exceeded even the most demanding expectations! The menu was primarily based on hunt and Autumn delicacies… We started with a delicious cream of lentejas (lentils), soft, velvety… The seafood in tempura that followed was crispy and amazingly well presented with Trompetas de la Muerte (Craterellus cornucopioides). The little filloas (crepes) filled with creamy mushrooms and surrounded by melted Galician cheese were to die for! The hake was perfectly cooked, with an amazing smoky flavor… This tasting menu was one of the most delicious I have ever tasted. Miguel, once again, we thank you for your expertise and for making these moments memorable! As customers, we cannot wait to see that Michelin star at your door! You truly deserve it!
