“Superb food”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Whilst slightly expensive, the food here cannot be faulted .My main was duck which just melted in the mouth. Totally delicious!! We visited for an anniversary and weren't disappointed. Will certainly return.
The only fault was the rather grumpy barman who wasn't the most welcoming on our arrival.........

“Amazing location, great food.”
Reviewed 9 July 2014 via mobile

Oh my god this place is in the most beautiful location.... i want to live here! The pub is right on the river side and the outside tables go up right next to it. There's a little ferry that will take you across the river for £1.50 per adult and 60p a child. 60p a bike. One of the waiters stands on it and uses a rope to pull it across every ten mins or so.

We had sandwiches and chips and they do really nice chips! Eton mess for desert. A lot bigger than anticipated.

Husband enjoyed it as they serve Doom bar.

You have to pay to park there. If you avoid the long stay it's £2 for 4 hours. £4 for the rest. The long stay doesn't have the £2 option.

The pub sits on a flat cycle path that runs all the way to Monmouth. About 5 miles. We didn't cycle it but did walk along for a while with the pram.
