9 mile paddle from Kearne bridge, picturesque nature. Good briefing from the staff, not a difficult trip even with the shallow 'rapids'

“Canoeing and orienteering day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

We are just back from a brilliant day on the River Wye where we spent the morning canoeing and the afternoon orienteering with Wye Canoes. There were five of us and we ranged in age from 13 to 70 odd! The guides that accompanied us on the river were very helpful and managed to get us going in the right direction.
My only suggestion would be to just provide the tea and coffee at the beginning and to forget about the bacon roll which as it wasn't cooked on-site and was cold.
We all thoroughly recommend the day, are now ache like mad and are really looking forward to bed!

“A beautiful, beautiful day out!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

We went on the 30th June, 2014 on my 21st birthday and it was just the most lovely day from start to finish! The man who gave us the introduction talk (sorry I can't remember your name!) was really friendly and funny and obviously knew his stuff! You feel prepared enough to get going but not so overwhelmed with red tape and health and safety than the fun is sucked out. Pretty much you are given a chat at the start, a helmet, life jacket and let loose on the river. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and even as locals we were still very impressed! We saw Kingfishers, Herons, and lots of Ducks and ducklings and Swans and cygnets. Apparently the weekends can get quite busy, but on a Monday which wasnt a holiday it was really really quiet. So peaceful!

We went from Kerne Bridge to Redbrook which was a full day out, but we did just kind of drift for a while taking in the scenery and we also stopped at The Saracens Head which was AMAZING, although quite busy even for a Monday! Apparently The Ferry across the way is just as good too.

We managed to fall in which was 100% my boyfriends fault and part of the reason I'm writing this review is so that that fact will remain eternally on the internet. We fell in on the rapids because we literally did the opposite of what the man told us to do. It was definitely our fault (or I should say Mr G Modget's fault) that we fell in and would be easily avoidable. For example there were two girls canoeing at the same time as us and they were pretty surprised we had fallen in. Apparently they'd just been discussing how they couldn't understand how anyone could fall in... ahem.

ANYWAY - amazing day, pack lots of water and snacks and suncream and bug spray and you will have a wonderful, memorable and beautiful day out! An great price for a whole day out too!

“Fun for all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

We did a canoe/orienteering day - great fun - two hours on the Wye canoeing, then lunch and orienteering in the afternoon. Well organised and fun for all.
Staff are great and friendly, but also there to help if you get into trouble - safety is a priority.
