Gill, John & their staff are very welcoming and looked after us very well. We had a long weekend in the Wye Valley and this guest house is ideally situated. Lovely pubs/restuarants in easy walking distance (although maybe a bit pricey if you are a family with children) and great walks if you're wanting to work off your breakfast. Lovely comfy bed in room 5, which had beautiful views over the river and forest. A great place to stay, friendly staff and good food. Maybe the door handle could be mended on the bathroom though. That is ALL there was to be a tiny bit negative about!

Room Tip: Ask for Room no. 5 with its dual aspect windows overlooking the river

Excellent views and lovely room-number 5. Breakfast choices were available and cooked to perfection. Perfect weather may have helped but couldn't find fault with anything. Would stay again if ever in the area and will recommend to friends.

Room Tip: no.5 has excellent river views and quite spacious.

John and Gill and Staff, should be congratulated on their friendly approachable nature. Rooms clean and fresh! Breakfast excellent and very organised people, did not wait long for anything.

Forest view has a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. It's the best place for walking, and eating. Yat Rock was a great walk @ 6.00am if you can get up take your binoculars and camera! Periquines, Ravens, Goshawks, Fallow Deer, its Spring-Watch in a matter of minutes...

Debs and Kim Plymouth.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet, ours was small but basic, all that we needed. Very Clean.

My husband and I stayed at Forest View Guest House during the May bank holiday weekend, and enjoyed 3 nights in the lovely Symonds Yat!
The owners Gill and John were the perfect hosts (along with their staff) and made us feel very welcome and totally at ease. We were fortunate to have a lovely view of the forest, and down to the river from the other side of the bedroom too. Plus we were able to enjoy a beautifully cooked breakfast (of which we had a selection to choose from), sat in the sunny conservatory, overlooking the stunning views down to the river!
The only negative to mention would be how uncomfortable we found the bed… which was extremely hard. On the upside though – it was plenty big enough.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend… :-)

Stayed at this delightful Hotel overnight about three weeks ago and in almost every respect it could not be faulted. My only real problem was the room we had was a twin with only 30 inch beds and being a fairly large person I felt a little insecure. I think the room was No. 61.
Other than that the hosts were very welcoming and the food was very good.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay and I cannot recommend this wonderful guest house enough. The breakfasts were really good, tasty and filling. The never ending coffee/tea top ups were much needed to set you up for the day ahead.
We found the owners very helpful and welcoming. We stayed in room 11, the bed was extremely comfortable and the views truly amazing. We both slept really well, but this could of been the walk up to YAT Rock (the hard way) that helped :) We are already planning our next visit.
Thank you for helping to make our weekend away very memorable!!

Room Tip: Highly recommend room 11 lovely views down the river Wye towards the rapids

The forest view sums up symonds yat for me. Friendly, welcoming, relaxed and the best bit is the view.

Breakfast was very nice, well worth the money!

It didn't bother me but I could see having to hold the shower head up when you showering bothering some people.
