Just back from a super New Year weekend at the Royal Lodge – all the staff were attentive, very helpful, cheerful and hard working throughout (we were impressed with the extra touches, such as the chair coverings for the Gala Dinner).
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, even though the staff were catering for a very full house and full itinerary, the gala dinner, definitely up to expectations and the fireworks, more than. Thanks to all.

We at the Royal Lodge would like to acknowledge the guests review and thank the guest for their appreciation of the New Year package that they have enjoyed. The Royal Lodge has had a fantastic success over the past five years with its New Years Eve event and this is testament to the level of food, service and overall hospitality that we provide.

We are pleased that the guest appreciated the efforts that were made for the Black Tie 6 Course Gala Dinner and firework display that followed.

We look forward to welcoming the guest back in the very near future for another memorable experience.

Kind Regards
Guest Relations.

We stayed here on a Groupon deal for a romantic night, and it was excellent. The Superior rooms was good size and tasteful. The food was excellent and if anything the portions were too big for a full 3 course!
The only criticisms were, that the bathroom lighting a little too bright and not able to dim down for the wifes bath, not exactly the end of the world?? There was a £2 charge for the full cooked breakfast, and I would recommend this as it was SUPERB!
Fantastic value and a lovely little spot, with very polite and pleasant staff, this hotel is certainly making a big effort and should be rewarded for it. If your thinking of a hotel with charater and on a sensible budget in a lovely setting with good food - you have found it!

Will definitely return again - just gotta get rid of the kids for the night again!!

Room Tip: Go for the superior or better

Our short break was one of the best. Nestled in the picturesque Wye Valley, overlooking the river, the hotel is a hidden gem. We were met with a friendly and warm welcome, our room was very comfortable and the food and staff were fantastic. We plan to go back, but for a longer stay in the future.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Very nice little hotel, nice and very helpful staff.
Room was very cosy with a great view on the river. TV was more like a laptop screen (in size) and is mounted to the wall at a weird angle, I was too tired to watch after the days activities but nevertheless a decent size TV doesn't cost much at all these days. Had a bit of an issue with the kettle as the wire is fastened to the wall? And the shower lacked pressure......Fire alarm went off at around 7 am on a Sunday morning!
Still it was one of the better hotel stays Ive had recently and would come again!!

Room Tip: For £6 more could have a double room!

We would like to thank our guest for choosing to stay at the Royal Lodge and for taking the time to post their review. Unfortunately in our two single rooms we do have smaller 22inch Flat Screen TV's which we are looking to increase in size over the winter. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the early morning fire alarm, unfortunately a guest departing early had damaged a call point while descending the stairs. We apologize for this inconvenience which was outside of our control.
We are pleased that the guest enjoyed their stay and look forward to welcoming them back in the near future.

Kind Regards
