We spent 2 nights here as part of a Wowcher deal. Staff were warm and friendly on arrival. We had a room that looked over the river right up at the top of the building so quite a few stairs and doors to reach it. The room was clean and tidy although I think it was one of their more basic rooms. The sink was in the bedroom and the ensuite was behind a sliding door, however, both were very clean. One small niggle was a very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom and also the one in the room next door could be heard.
The bar and restaurant were lovely, we ate from the bar menu as this was more reasonably priced than the al a carte - this would be the one for special occasions! We had a cream tea on the second day which was part of the deal. The scones were really fresh and the clotted cream was delicious. This was served in the lounge area where we were warmed by the wood burner and kept company by the resident cat.
Overall, it was good value for money as part of an offer. If I was staying as a full price guest, I would ask for a higher standard of room.More
