“Lovely location good facilities”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

From check in to check out, we were impressed by this hotel. We arrived a little early to be able to check in but it was no hardship to sit on the river bank with a drink, watching the grebes, ducks and swans.
Our room was a river view room on the ground floor. It was spacious , well appointed and clean. The room had a balcony which was a nice place to sit but it meant that the doors could not be left open and there were no windows that could be left open so we had to resort to using the fan that was available in the room. The bathroom was a decent size with a good over bath shower.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both meals were very good. There was a varied menu and the food was tasty and well presented.
Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff.

We arrived at the hotel on Saturday 17th May and were greeted by a lovely young girl on reception. We were in room 107, a spacious king size room with full bathroom. Overall, the room was clean, had modern fittings and a very comfy bed. The bedding was also very clean and nicely presented. There were a couple of minor areas of improvement; the toilet needed more of a clean and the carpet had a large red stain by the bed, but really nothing to worry about or effect the stay. We went to the hotel bar in the evening and thought the bar staff were very polite and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel, however the food did look good!

We booked the hotel as were visiting Thorpe Park the following morning. The locality was perfect - only a ten minute drive away. If we were to visit Thorpe Park again, there is no reason why we wouldn't stay at The Bridge Hotel again. Good value for money.

Travelled to Chertsey to have a day or 2 in Thorpe Park - which is less than 6 miles away, but wanted to stay somewhere with a bit of comfort. & nice food...
The courtesy car park was under cover and just a few steps away from the front doors,on entering the hotel we were quite impressed with the layout & interriors. Pleasant receptionist, our late check in was quick & efficient. We had booked D B&B with 2 river view rooms which were on the 1st floor (lift available or stairs). Nice clean rooms, quite spacious with adequate drawers/hanging space, tea & coffee making facilities + FREE WiFi (although we did have trouble connecting to it ,& at times it was quite slow) . The bathroom was adequate size and clean (but no heated radiator to air/dry towels). A nice feature was the balconette windows, (although even though we are smokers-who only smoke outdoors & this was a non smoking establishment-)- one of our rooms did smell of smoke & on notifying reception we were offered the use of some airfreshner,or a room change if we wished-
We remained in same room & just opened windows for an hour or 2, whilst we enjoyed a lovely relaxed, 3 course evening meal in 'The Boat House restaurant' attached to the hotel with very attentive & helpful restaurant staff .. Tasteful entrees such as the Smoked mackerel with walnut & apple salad, pork terrine/pate & baked breads , baked gorgonzola tart with rocket salad, with Main courses of Pork Belly side / the crackling perfectly roasted mounted on mash & jus, ginormous crispy coated chicken burgers with triple cooked hand cut chunky chips & I had an unusual dining experience of cooking ones own ribeye steak on a 400c stone at the table, AMAZING!. & a delightful array of tempting desserts to end...fantastic!!..
They offer a variety of delicious options to suit most palates on the A La Carte menu which changes frequently.
The view for our rooms & the dining room, was really lovely of the river, inlet & Chertsey bridge, with the trees and a moored boat .Swans & Ducks swimming around.
. A long with a very nicely decorated lounge/bar area with rivers views..A smallish but nice outdoor seating area (which is light up at night) to enjoy a cool evening drink by the river.. very nice.

Check in was quick, efficient and friendly, we booked a river view room on the top floor, and on entering it we were most impressed.

A lovely room, clean, spacious with adequate drawers and hanging space, tea and coffe making facilities and FREE WiFi.

The bathroom was of adequate size and clean.

We did not need an evening meal as we had visited relatives for Sunday lunch.

The view was really lovely and the next morning after a good nights sleep, we watched with interest as 2 Great Crested Grebes were busy nest building, dragging large bits of branches behind them. Green Parakeets were 'singing' in the trees and Swans, and Ducks were swimming around.

The weather could have been better but the skies later on so we went for a walk along the river before check out.

The car park was under cover and just a few steps away.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again as we intend to visit the Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, we did go to have a look at the Concorde at the entrance, which was previously at the entrance to London Heathrow Airport, but with limited time available to us we will have to make it another day.

Checkout was quick and friendly....................a great place to stay!!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room

Have just spent few days in the bridge hotel Chertsey with my 15 year old grandson. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was decorated well and beds extremely comfortable. Free WiFi and plenty of drink making facilities and supplies. No complaints and river Thames on doorstep amazing walks ideal central location for historic and leisurely activities.

Checking in was very easy and quick as I had already booked online. No mention of needing a charge card for extras. Going up to the room we did notice the tired paintwork but the next morning had painters at work. Initial view of room 115 was good - clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean but not enough toiletries for two people, just small soap - shower gel and shampoo. The rooms window frame was damaged so wasn't sure about room security as a fire exit walkway is directly outside the window. The extractor fans exhausts are right next to the room so there was a humming noise most of the time through the single glaze window. The hotel should replace the window with a new double glazing unit. Would I stay in the hotel again? maybe but would ask not to be in room 115 unless the fan noise has been overcome. Quality of the dinner in the evening was very good and so was the cooked breakfast but not much choice on the very small buffet area for fruit etc.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the river.

Hi nautique
Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback, especially from well seasoned travellers such as yourself

I have reviewed the toiletries with my Head Housekeeper and we are now looking to improve our supplies to the rooms.

Since your stay we have had the extractor fans serviced and this has reduced the humming noise on the roof
