We were greeted by a friendly gentleman on arrival who provided us with our keys to our rooms. Our room was lovely, so comfortable and a good bottle of wine on arrival to the room. You can understand if you get a deal on Groupon you may not always get the best bottle of wine and the best meal included but not in this case.

We had a look at the extensive wine list prior to our evening meal, and sat in the very comfortable lounge (wifi included) and relaxed with a beautiful Pinotage.

The food was lovely, shin of beef was the main and it fell apart, the dessert trolley was to die for, so much so I kept recommending the crumble to the other tables in the restaurant.

All of the staff were friendly and said hello, while walking around the corridors, including the chef's walking between the kitchen and the restaurant.

On our last evening we had been in to Aviemore for a meal, when we got back to the hotel, we were advised that our table was free if we wished to watch the entertainment and asked if we wanted a bottle of the same wine as last night. Excellent service, it made us feel welcomed and special. We had a wee dance and then off to bed. Breakfast on both days was very good, all well-cooked.

Thank you for a great stay.
Emily and Iain

We were travelling as part of large coach party, and perhaps at the lower age range of the group, so we would not expect luxury at the price we paid. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The bedroom was tired but of a good size and clean. The hot water in both the shower and the basin was erratic. The tables and the space between the tables in the restaurant was cramped. Food best described as average. I would not stay here as an independent traveller.

booked and paid for a double room, upon arrival was given keys to a twin room, when i went back down to reception to reception to explain, the receptionist told me they had no other rooms and thats what i would have to stay in. when i pointed out that they recieved, confirmed and took the money for a double room i was still told no! it was only after a coach party came in that a double room became available! the chap behind the bar was very friendly and the evening meal was nice enough, breakfast was poor, theres no mobile phone signal or wifi in the rooms and there were just average! there are better hotels and more helpful staff in the area

My wife and I stayed for three nights on a bed and breakfast basis via an offer from Hotel Connexions. The bedroom we were allocated was on the whole very good, spacious and quite comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were provided in the bedroom along with a good working TV. There was a shower cabinet in the en-suite bathroom but there was no bath. There was plenty of hot water available. There was a cracked window in the bedroom and an ill fitting tap in the bathroom. I reported these matters to the reception staff but the repairs were not carried out during our stay. We went for a bar meal the first night but it was not very good. I had lasagne, salad and chips and had to return the lasagne to the chef as it was cold in the middle. When I got my plate back the lasagne was still cold and I did not eat all. The salad was only a bunch of rocket leaves, nothing else, very poor indeed. My wife had a beef burger and chips but it was not very good either. We did not eat again in the evenings at the hotel and went to some of the nearby hostelries where we found the food to be very satisfactory indeed. We ate breakfast in the hotel and everything was very good. The alcoholic drinks in the bar are pretty costly. The staff were very good and attentive. During our stay the hotel was very busy with tour buses and the restaurant in the evenings/breakfast times was packed out. This is a good central location to visit Kingussie, Aviemore, Fort William, Boat of Garten, Inverness, the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig and the Cairngorm Funicular Railway. This area is well known to me and my wife. We would probably return again to this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis only. We would prefer to eat elsewhere in the evenings.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is not on the main road side of the hotel and you will have a quieter night and a...

The hotel from the outside looks very very rundown - However the room was very comfortable and clean and the 3 course meal was OK breakfast was lovely. All staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely and quiet at night. The hotel seems to be kept busy with busloads from various tour companies. It is situated in a good area for visiting various places of interest. Fabulous outdoor activities closeby for adults and children and beautiful walks at Loch Morlich in Aviemore. Transport a must as you are quite isolated.

Room Tip: Nice place to stay for an overnight stay en route to somewhere. Would not book for a longer spell.

Room was fine, clean and no complaints. Dinner was average but again, no complaints. Service was very good and staff professional and friendly. We called in advance when stuck in a traffic jam and the staff were very helpful in providing information and alternative routes. This was a 5pm deal and we were very happy with our stay. Check out the wild cat walk while you're there, its a great way to get in among the scenery! Local bars and hotels were also very friendly to us and we had a great wee night out till 2am in Newtonmore! Only complaint would be that the bed was not too comfortable as it was coming apart in the middle section. We would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We didn't have a bath in our room, perhaps you need to ask.

This is a great Hotel situated in a lovely location for a trip to Aviemore and the surrounding area.
The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
We were able to park our motorcycles under cover as well.
Also when we returned from a ride out the manager was there waiting with our room key.
The rooms are spacious and very clean and good tea and coffee making facilities are available.
The hotel restaurant served a good value 3 course meal and all served by caring staff.
The breakfast served to us in a good old style and was a superb Scottish option !
Saturday evening featured a local musician to add to the atmosphere.
We would definitely use this hotel again when in the area.

Room Tip: All rooms would be quite as of the hotel location.
