Not bespoke as the name sounds. A typical touring hotel but with nice staff and basic rooms. Good for bikers and coach parties not boutique at all. Clean, good price as a stopp off. The location is very good and i liked the pace of life. Value for money but wrong corporate name - if you ever see the name quality hotel you are guaranteed no quality - same here with bespoke - it is not.

We stayed here due to the fact that we had a voucher from ItIsOn, which we thought was a fairly good deal.
First things first, the room was fine. It was clean, big, and the bed was really comfy. However in the morning, at around 6am, we were awoken by the noise of the other guests having showers, chatting, walking around etc. Not too bad though, not enough in itself to stop us from coming back.
However....what will stop us from coming back....our experience with the food! Our voucher contained a 3 course meal and we were really looking forward to it. Dinner was served between 7.30 and 9pm, really quite late when we had been travelling all day! My partner had a Chicken Caesar salad to start, followed by fish pie. I had vegetable samosas followed by penne arrabiata pasta.
I can honestly say that I have NEVER been served such horrendous food in all my life. I feel bad for being so brutally honest, but I swear it was so bad we actually just had to laugh at it. The salad was 3 leaves (no joke!) with two chicken slices and some mayonnaise. The samosas were obviously very poor quality with vegetable mush inside, you couldn't tell what vegetables there were. The fish pie tasted off, and the pasta was just disgusting, watery tomato sauce, overcooked, far too much pepper. We both left our main courses as they were inedible. The desserts were no better either, part of this "dessert trolley" that everyone else has mentioned. Looked like something out of the 1950s and tasted really bad.
We both felt really bad for the waiting staff, as they obviously knew how crap the food was, but were really lovely. We can't fault the front-of-house staff. The management really need to take a good hard look at the food though. I wouldn't serve that to someone in my house, let alone expect someone to pay for it! They must surely be aware of what they are serving their guests, and I'd be shocked if they think that it's adequate.

The take home message is this....ok for a quick overnight stop off, however stay away from the food!

We were disappointed to read your comments about the food as we have always had a good reputation and we are so sorry that you felt it was substandard. I will discuss your comments fully with my chef and hope that this will not deter you from making a return visit in the future.

We stayed in the Highlander and the staff was very nice and helpful. We arrived late after hotel food service had stopped but the front desk person ran to try to catch the chef before he went hope. When he had already left, she directed us to a close by market with ready made sandwiches. Room was clean and roomy and very quiet. Breakfast was very nice with a big Scottish cooked breakfast. Good value for the price. Wish we had had more time to enjoy the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Wifi is really only available near the lobby so try to get a room closer.

Set conveniently on the edge of Newtonmore, this hotel surprised us with its cleanliness and comfort. All the staff were friendly and very obliging. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. We asked for a quiet room and got it ! Maybe the bedroom walls are a bit thin, but didn't detract from an unforgettable holiday based at this well run hotel. You must visit the 17th century mock-up village close by. It is a revelation !

Room Tip: Room 131 was a large family room overlooking the road and pine forest beyond. Get it if you can. The...

We stayed here for two nights 29th & 30th May 2014, very helpful and friendly staff at this Hotel, could not do enough for you. En-suite room was very nice, clean & large too, comfortable bed and quiet, a great night's sleep. Small bar with great bar staff. Restaurant/dining room was large and very busy on both nights with guests and bus party's. Food was basic but very well presented and tasty, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was the usual cereal's fruit, yoghurt's, bread's, toast and variations of cooked breakfast including full Scottish, scrambled/poached/boiled eggs etc. all very good, and staff very attentive both at breakfast and dinner. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would not think twice about staying here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 110 which was very nice, all rooms are on ground or first floor level with no real v...

Just back from a lovely few days in this hotel We found everything to be very good from the staff to the rooms and the food was excellent. The whole little town was very friendly and people helpful. Would return here again without a doubt. Many thanks to all.

We went on a coach and train holiday with two of our friends, following our renewal of vows on our golden wedding. Scotland was lovely and the holiday made even more so by the hotel. The staff gave very good service during meals and the rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day. Cynthia thank you for making our very special week even more special.
