“A Museum for all seasons”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Do not be put off by the unprepossessing exterior. This museum is well worth a visit. Look out for the car park it is easy to miss. If you do there is plenty of on street parking.
Inside the museum caters for all. A quick skim to see what is there or long and in depth research. Once smitten, as I am, well worth a repeat visit and each visit is free! There is both lots to see and fascinating stories to hear about Jacobites and notorious Clansmen.

“Must see for Macpherson's!”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

As a descendant of a Macpherson this was a very complete and interesting museum. A lot of information in this small museum.

“A gem of a museum in the highlands”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

I visited the museum last weekend, and found it to be perfectly formed: small enough not to be daunting, free to enter, very interesting and full of charm and character. It is just off the A9, so can be easily visited en route if not staying in the area.

“An Excellent Potted Clan History”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

The Clan Macpherson museum is a fine example of a Clan collection, with many fascinating insights into the Macpherson Clan's history and some lovely artefacts and exhibits. Perhaps one of the more interesting is the broken fiddle reputed to be that broken by the Macpherson in the song 'Macpherson's Rant' at his hanging - but then again there are two others elsewhere in Scotland that make the same claim ,,,, make your own mind up! The museum admission is by donation and there is a knowledgeable individual present to help you with any questions you may have, plus a small range of Clan souvenirs
