“Really Comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2014

Stayed in Larch for a week and had a very relaxing time. Everything was clean tidy, comfy bed and good pilllows (we had taken our own just in case but were not needed). Deven though it was cool outside the cottage was cosy with the log burner. Wifi was good (much used for planning walks). Decor was all good and had a very relaxing week. The recommendation of the local butcher was stop on.

Room Tip: Larch does not have direct access to outside space, not an issue in winter but maybe nice in the war...

Our second stay at highland holiday cottages and again we were very pleased. We came for the slopes, great location for Cairngorms! Very cozy little cottage with everything you need to make your stay complete.
Will be back hopefully for a summer stay.

Lovely cottages of which we took 4 over St Patricks weekend for some skiing in the Cairngorms. Very clean, spacious and everything you could want to hand, even soap/shampoo and towels which are a nice touch.

I personally stayed in cedar cottage which is a 1 bedroom. It (as do all the others) has a log burner in the living room, a small catered kitchen and a huge bedroom with a king size and single bed.

The setting is stunning with a private lake situated behind the cottages which would be lovely in the summer, and a games room which we didn't venture into.

On a side note, we normally ski in France but Scotland surprised us just how good it was. Well worth a trip.

This place was in a great location with nice views. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed and we loved the log fire. We were in the Cedar Cottage which was ideal with the dog as I could let him out late at night and first thing into the enclosed garden. Staff were friendly and the directions made it easy to find. It was very close to the A9 making it easy to get to Newtonmore and Aviemore. If I had only one complaint, it would be that the cottage is described as dog-friendly (which it generally is) but I didn't realise until there that dogs are not allowed in the bedroom. While I don't let our dog on the furniture, in a strange location, he always likes to be near me so I always take his dog bed and put him in the same room at night. Trying to convince him not to come into the bedroom was really hard and in the end I had to put his basket by the doorway so that he could see me but he still looked a bit pitiful! Apart from this I have no complaints.

Was worried that the cottages wouldn't live up to the pictures or reviews ..... Needn't have bothered. Booked for 4 days 3 nights and took our wee dog with us. When you first open the door to your cottage prepare to smile like a kid on Xmas day ! Decor was gorgeous, living room and bedroom In Ash cottage fantastic size, bathroom wouldn't look out of place in boutique hotel. The kitchen had everything you could need - we even had a dishwasher ! We backed onto the walled garden great for Harry (the dog) and had wonderful views of the mountains .

Sian one of the owners welcomed us just after we arrived to check that we were happy and knew where everything was in the cottage -a lovely touch. Great location for going exploring recommend the highland wildlife park near Kingussie.

Will definitely be coming back in the future and hopefully some nicer weather however the log fire we had in the cottage was really warm and cosy that the cold and rain outside was never an issue.

If your looking for a relaxing peaceful trip away book here you won't be disappointed !

Ideal getaway cottage, was very well equipped, we couldn't have needed for anything more. The log fire was great for at nights. It is located just off the A9 however it is silent at the cottages, the surrounding views are lovely. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. There is lots to do and see within short drives. Overall a lovely wee cottage, we would defiantly go back.

Marc and Jade.

Room Tip: We were in 'cedar' which had a great view from both the living room patio doors, the kitchen...
