“Lovely house”

Good location, lovely spacious house, comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms, only negative was us having to chase for address and details of property, we couldn't find the house after a very long drive and there was no sign on the property, made up with welcome pack and prosecco. The house was chilly on dull days and there was no way to put on radiators however always plenty of hot water.

Management Response
24 Jun 2016
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. Although we have received many positive reviews, we appreciate the negative comments in order to improve where possible.
Sadly, the sign had fallen off the gate prior to your arrival. It has been damaged quite badly and we are in the process of replacing it. Many guests check arrival details and directions a couple of days prior to arrival with myself or the caretaker.
The heating is turned off during the summer months as there is lots of hot water and a wood burner. We provide an unlimited supply of firewood for the wood burner. Many guests find the house warm and cosy. However, we would never want guests to be cold. If you had contacted me during your stay, the heating would have been put on a timer for you.
Many thanks again for your review.

“Beautiful house in a great location”

Arrived at short notice after a holiday nightmare in France and pleased to say the house was everything we hoped for.

It was was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there - even the weather was better than expected!!

A great base which we used to visit many parts of the Highlands and Islands and there is also plenty to do without leaving the village.

Hope to be back again!!

“Beautiful house in a superb location.”

By far the best house we have ever stayed in for a holiday by far. The very tasteful decor, very well equipped kitchen plus really decent broadband access gave us an ideal base for a week of activities. The spa bath was a real hit as was the completely secure and safe garden. From a parent view, blackout blinds in the bedrooms gave us decent sleep and the surrounding area is very quiet with some lovely places to walk the dog. Newtonmore itself has a good number of places to eat out. We were extremely impressed with the house, and will most definitely be using Erindearn again the future.

“Stylish, relaxing and spacious”

We've stayed at this property quite a few times now, and it is always a pleasure going back. A very nicely decorated, spacious property - with a fabulously equipped kitchen. The kitchen alone is large and comfortable enough to accommodate everyone! Summertime is fun outside (garden is large with loads of space to play, and gates to close to keep pets in), and the house is very cosy with a wood-burning fire in the winter. Newtonmore itself is a lovely town in a beautiful area, with loads of walks around (don't be scared to drive up the mountains to get to some stunning scenery!).
Definitely worth the visit!

“Boutique interior in the heart of the Cairngorms”

I've stayed at Erindearn a few times now in all seasons. It's fabulous year-round. The house is nestled in private gardens but only a short walk from the train station and the main street's pubs and eateries. It's a short drive in to Kingussie which is a slightly bigger village and then on in to Aviemore.
The house is charming. A lovely old stone-built property but with a very stylish interior that's also cosy and homely. With two big rooms downstairs there's loads of socialising space to hang out in a group or snuggle up at the log burner just as a couple or a family.
We loved the four poster and the rolltop bath in the ensuite. the kids loved the jacuzzi in the main bathroom.
Great location and great house. Some self-catering properties we've been to have felt a bit tired or dated but this one is really special.
