Visited the museum for the opening of a photography exhibition. The museum is well presented, informative and the displays carefully depict Cromwell's history. Edith, who is the driving force behind the museum is passionate about what she does. Great to see exhibitions from Otago museum coming out to regional museums. The wildlife photos are well worth a visit into the Cromwell museum to view.

We stopped by after seeing this museum featured on a tv show. We have been to Cromwell many times, but until we saw the show we were not even aware there was a museum. It is a little hard to find, but well worth the effort to seek it out. Great displays and a big focus on the local gold mining history. Only had about 30 minutes to go through, but we could have spent hours there. The museum is located in the middle of the shopping Centre btw.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Cromwell museum over the weekend. Well displayed with great lighting. What a lot of history Cromwell has. I remember what it looked like before the dam was built. Many lovely holidays here with my children and visits with my parents.

Had a rather misty welcome to Cromwell which added to the beauty of the place.

Kind of stumbled across this place on the way to the toilets, we were only supposed to stay in Cromwell for an hour or two but ended up spending half the day with a big chunk of it at the museum.

We worked our way around the museum, the Star Wars exhibit cracked me up as it seems rather out of place next to an old hospital bed, but when in Rome.

On the way out a very helpful and lovely lady walked us through the old Cromwell exhibit and pointed out some handy locations to see since we were going that way - her passion for Cromwell really made my day.

Overall: Must see
Tip: Make a donation which is located near the front door
