“Average Experience”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

Went there two times and even if staff are friendly, the experiences were average. The wine list is very poor even if you are located in the capital of Pinot Noir in New Zealand. Food is good and in big quantity but there is no spark. Very basic. There is a potential; with creativity in the plate and a better wine list, it will get better!!

“Expected more!”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

First time to Cromwell and went to visit the Mall. Only place that seemed decent so we ate here. Ordered lamb was nice but the salad was drowned in vinagerette. Waitress seemed flustered and smelt of cigars!
Bright interior of green and wine list was dismal. Overall for 2 people the price was charged like fine dining despite the ratherly general but tasty menu.

“Very Nice Meal”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

We were a group of four locals. Our meals were very nice and yes the portions are generous. Two of us shared a small pizza as a starter and the other two shared a platter. Both were very tasty. The pork belly, fish of the day and lamb were all very well cooked and presented. The option of veges or salad made these a very substantial meal.
On the down side, one of the guys was asked for ID when we ordered drinks. He is 33 and wasn't so impressed.
Two wait staff attended our table instead of each having a group to look after. This meant neither knew what the other one had said/not said.
We felt the lighting could be dimmed a bit for evening dining but otherwise they offer nice indoor and outdoor dining.
A nice wee restaurant and we will try it again.

“Best feed we had in NZ”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Stopped at No 7 for a feed on our trip around the South Island and enjoyed it so much we visited it again at the end of our stay.
Serving sizes are huge and our meals were sublime. Particularly enjoyed the mussel entre in a rich coconut broth that could have been a meal on its own. Twice cooked Pork Belly was superb and you must try the Blue Cheese pizza which is the best pizza I've had!
The staff were friendly and the service prompt, I thoroughly recommend a visit, younwont be disappointed.

“Very nice meals - but HUGE servings!”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

This is a nice little place in the Cromwell shopping mall with excellent pub-style food. Go very hungry because the servings are enormous. The service was just okay - they were advertising for staff, so may have been short-handed or had very inexperienced servers. The chef was not able to adapt for lactose-intolerance, so that was a limiting factor for us.
