From the cool drink on arrival to the amazing view of the Nile as you come over the rise, nothing can prepare you for the beauty of the NSL- 16 of us stayed over night and used the NSL for meals over the three weeks we were in the area. A real treat and we will be back again in 2015

I just returned from an amazing two night stay at the Nile Safari Lodge. I arranged a 3 day safari to Murchison Falls and chose Nile Safari Lodge as my accommodations. After a seven hour drive we headed straight to an afternoon game drive. When we arrived at Nile Safari Lodge we were exhausted. We were greeted at our car by a gentleman with warm face clothes. What a wonderful start to what turned out to be one of the most pleasant lodging experiences I have ever had. We checked in and were offered our dining choices for dinner. While we were checking in our shower was prepared. After a nice very warm shower, we dined to a magnificent meal. I had lamb and my daughter had tilapia. Every meal was three courses with a soup, and entrée, and a dessert. We were asked what time we would like breakfast and our order was taken. We woke up at 5:30 am the next day and enjoyed another wonderful meal. Our lunch order was taken and we set off for the morning game drive. It was when we returned for lunch, after our greeting with lemon scented cool face clothes, that we first truly appreciated the beauty of the lodge. The lodge is comprised of quaint cabins overlooking the Nile River. The grounds are lush and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, ordered our dinner and set off for our afternoon boat ride. When we returned we expected and very much appreciated our face cloth greeting. Another exquisite meal and we lounged and chatted with our guide for a time. The staff is superb. Our meals were ready the minute we arrived and each course was delivered as soon as the previous was done. Our room was serviced each day and prepared for bedtime as we were dining.

I had yet another amazing experience at one of Geo lodges' facilities in Murchison falls. The isolated location was perfect for me, the facilities were very clean, Dennis & Mlala cattered for our customized requests to the dot. Cudn't wish for better.

The lodge offers a unique combination of nature and luxury. The staff are excellent and incredibly professional. Only at sunrise can you fully appreciate the pristine location and expansive views. Sitting right on the banks of the Nile perched high up on stilts, the hippos and bull frogs sing you to sleep. Beyond 5-star service, the lodge offers numerous amenities: in room massage, made to order hot bucket shower, and most important, supreme cuisine! The accommodation made the safari experience all the more magical. From my outdoor balcony I was able to across to the opposite bank and see elephants and hippos in abundance!

We arrived at dusk and were checked in and taken to our rooms very efficiently. We stayed in eco tents with stunning views across the Nile. The tents were comfortable and clean and we slept like babies. We enjoyed having a G&T by the open fire pit in the evening, then moving onto the restaurant that had a good and varied menu; packed lunch boxes were also good too. Note that due to the remoteness of this lodge, there is only power at night from 6ish to about 10.30, no internet and shower water is boiled and brought to your outdoor shower upon request - this was not a problem at all for us and added to the uniqueness of our holiday. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

It has been many years since I last stayed at the Nile Safari Lodge, back then still called Nile Safari Camp, before the owners / managers 'Inns of Uganda' rebranded to 'GeoLodges' and the camp was upgraded to a fully fledged lodge. Nile Safari Lodge, now in its 21st year of operation, has aged well and the views, apart from more vegetation along the river bank courtesy of a policy to preserve trees and shrubs, continue to attract those 'awesome' outbursts by first time visitors.
Hospitality was warm and attentive, from the iced towels on arrival to wipe off the sweat and dust of the journey, to a chilled fruit juice on check in to courteous enquiries when I wanted my shower bucket to be filled - which then happened on the dot, every time, morning and night.
Breakfast is served as part buffet and part 'by order' for egg dishes, lunch and dinner a three course affair with a soup of the day as starter and then three main course dishes to choose from before, if any space at all is left in the stomach, a dessert tempts the diners to overindulge. And, as witnessed, if that is not enough, the chef will be happy to whistle up a meal which pleases the palate of the guests, given a bit of early notice that is. The portions, for lunch and supper, were big, no second helpings needed, and the food was well presented.
I loved their African tea, well spiced and strong on the ginger element, just as I do it at home myself but the best was their freshly made Tamarind juice, deliriously delicious!
The two tents, aka as rooms 1 and 2, make way to the wooden cabins 3 - 12 but all have balconies from where to look down at the river and attached bathrooms with 'outdoor' showers, walled in of course, which give that feeling of 'standing in the rain' with the stars - or the sun - above, not permitting any prying eyes to peep. The shower buckets are filled with hot water by time arrangement, allowing for some unique experience, as in my case a little monkey jumped off the roof and sat on the wall watching me wash my hair, only to race away as I threw a little water his way.
Davidson, the manager, is a jack of all trades and has plenty of stories to tell when he interacts with his guests, from unusual game sightings to what is generally going on in the park, even though NSL is just outside the park boundaries.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip, with plenty of bird and game sightings of course. NSC continues to come with my recommendations.

Room Tip: All the cabins overlook the river and allow for views across the Nile River to the Northern bank. Gu...

Visited the Lodge last Saturday on 8th March following a 2 nights win from a local radio station. we used public transport to get to the lodge...quite a thrill and adventurous but hectic especially with the dust and frequent stop overs at various villages. On arrival at the Lodge, the staff were amazing and very friendly. They offered us fruit juice considering how tired and hungry we looked and arranged a quick meal at 5pm.
The food was amazing with great service and the King fisher cottage was cosy, beautiful and comfortable. Coupled with the beautiful sound of nature around us, the wildlife and also the swimming pool.

Very recommendable, i will visit again!
