This hotel facility is specifically designed for family retreat.

The location shall ensure you to enjoy the freshness of mountain air, and eye-soothing scenery. The facility also boasts an organic farm where you can find fresh vegetables carefully farmed without any trace of chemicals.

Tip:
Very nice for family retreat.
Do not expect hotel-grade service and meal.
Use high ground-clearance vehicle such as SUV to reach this hotel

Stayed here with a group of other families that also brought their children. While seemingly difficult to get to (very steep roads!), its actually quite fun and adventurous for the family and kids as one arrives at the hotel. Tucked high up in an area of Puncak very close to the Safari Park (or Taman Safari), the hotel boasts a plantation nursery (where kids can learn about flower/plant growth), a refreshing pool for a days swim, expansive grounds (for a good game of football!), trampoline overlooking a majestic cliff/river, rabbits to feed and also a mini obstacle course! There really is lots to do, if you like a cosy, friendly hotel with rustic features (ie not modern).

Would you come back? Its a really good place to bring back your entire family, company retreat or even small gathering of your closest friends (there's actually a very nice fireplace nearby the pool)

Make sure you have a car that can go to semi-extreme roads, as going to this place took a pretty adventurous driving.

The place is old looking, some call it rustic, but I was pretty happy with overall. The service is great. The staff greeted & smiled & very helpful.

I went there with my family and 4 other families. We did make some noise at the place, yet the hotel is very understanding and let us have the fun. Our room was super! we love them. Thanks to one of the porters who led us to choose those "special" rooms.

If you don't mind small old bathroom, this is the place for you. Bed is OK, clean place (I salute the janitors who cleaned up ALL of our mess by 6am!!!), quiet, cool weather, nice hang out places.

Food is cheap. Restaurant nearby is Raffles which is good & affordable. A short drive to TAMAN SAFARI.
Kids loved it here, they can swim, feed the rabbits, & had fun at the playground. They didn't want to leave!

Ask for discount when you make bookings.

Room Tip: Ask for special standard rooms. The suites are great!

Although finding this place was a bit of an adventure (up steeps, gravelly hills and twisting corners) the journey was worth it when we arrived at the tranquil little oasis that is the Pinewood Lodge. Nestled among tall pine trees and a winding river the lodge itself sprawls in wooden cabin like buildings down the hill and covered pathways. Each suite room is thematically and tastefully designed (we had a peek at most of them!) We stayed in the American suite which had a huge bedroom, a living room area (with big wall length windows looking out onto the forest), a balcony and ensuite. I assume the name pinewood comes from the trees (one of which actually sprouted through the room and out of the ceiling) The price includes full board meals which were all delicious and fresh; as the place also has an organic farm many of the vegetables are fresh from the farm.

There are some activites to keep you occupied here (swimming pool, table tennis, farm, extensive gardens, rabbits, flying fox, tea plantation etc) but the beauty of this place is in doing virtually nothing, sitting by the big roaring fire at night and relaxing. The staff here also give 5 star service.
