This beach is a very famous tourism spot in Sri Lanka. This is about 5 km from Galle, a city in the southern part of the country. The water is crystal clear. You can see the sand at the bottom of the water very clearly. The beach is very clean and tidy - no littering. Lots of restaurants are available nearby. However parking is usually very tight during weekends. Be prepared to walk some distance. However the sight at the end of the road is worthwhile.

During weekends you always find someone with a guitar belting out sweet music or skimpily dressed tourists playing beach volleyball. The Unawatuna beach resort offers a fantastic cuisine. Or you can visit the Light House - a star hotel in Galle.

It is in the nature, nice small beach, with no big waves, so you can swim. There is a restaurant with fresh fish and seafood. Very nice and relaxing!

As this was a close location to where we stayed we tried it and didnt like it much though, the sea was rough at the time and it was crowded. So didnt stay for a long time....

It was a short trek and worth it. The Beach bar really isn't much but the beach is nice. I don't think they serve food.

It really is a trek to get down to jungle beach after parking your car on top of the Rumassala hill near the temple. But the place is like something out of a movie. Unfortunately there are far too many people there on most weekends so that feeling of having the entire beach to yourself is gone. Try going on a week day when there arent too many people. There is a makeshift bar/cafe that serves beer and food as well as rent beach beds. But a really cool place to go go snorkelling and to chill.
