This is a beach that is not easy to reach from the hotels area in Unawatuna, which is fine.
The worse thing, as this is the norm in Sri Lanka, is the poor manteined and dirty sands and waters.

We (me, my wife, our 12 year old daughter) loved Jungle Beach. More relaxed and laidback than the main Unawatuna beach, it's just a twenty minute walk away over the headland via the Peace Pagoda.

Did a little snorkelling and saw some some quite groovy fish, but if you are a hardcore snorkeller I imagine it's nothing to write home about.

Not a bad little place to eat. And so much less busy.

Plus we loved the walk over from the Birdhouse in Unawatuna which is where we stayed and a place I'd definitely recommend.

Easy walk away from the town, lovely beach overlooking Galle. A nice bar serving drinks and decent food at reasonable prices. Much better than the main beach in Unawatuna.

Ask your tuktuk driver to take the jungle road. You see what's behind all the tourism of Unawatuna and were the villagers live.

It is an easy way to get lost if you go on your own and you don't always see a lot of locals to ask the way, so maybe more clever to take tuktuks there before you go on you own by scooter or bike.

The beach itself is a nice little place! I visited jungle beach on my second day in Sri Lanka and then it takes your breath away!

loved the food, view and relaxed atmosphere, no hawkers which is great Tuck Tuck from Unawatuna took five minutes, got there at lunch time, chose a lobster, noodles, and cold beer.

Views are amazing, sea rushes in from time to time under your sun bed so make sure you don't put your bag, or book on the sand, and make sure your flip fops are on the ledge. take a towel.

great afternoon out.....
