When we went the beach bar was closed (New Year)and the beach was dirty and we felt uncomfortable. Stayed about 20 mins and got a small boat back

Pleasant enough cove, if it weren't for all the tourists, as the boat trips come here, and it's the secret place that EVERYONE knows. The little cafe is terrible service. The beach is okay but when the tide is in there's not that much sand to sit on. The snorkelling was almost non existent. Low visibility, hardly any coral. The few fish that were there were right in amongst the rocks on the left side. The tuk tuk drivers really sting you to come here, make sure you already have one organised to collect you.

This beach is nice, the central part is clean, there is a nice shadow so the sun wont burn you. It was not crowded and the toilet was suprisingly clean, but we were here in April. We came there with our tuk-tuk since it is quite a long way to walk when it is so hot. On the top of the road to the beach, there is huge Peace Pagoda, good place to see. The road to the beach was ok, a 5 minute walk through the jungle, it was not as bad as we read here, I think they reinforced it with sand bags, so it is not slippery. The restaurant staff offers sunbeds on the beach if you buy a few drinks there.

The best of Unawatuna beaches, hidden away in the jungle. A bit commercialized now, but still a must see. There is a small restaurant right at the beach where you can grab a beer while you chill. Snorkeling excursions are available for a nominal fee, not much coral to see, but plenty of coral fish.

You can easily get to this beach by boat or by tuk-tuk from Unawatuna where we stayed. The beach is clean, and every Tuesaday night there seems to be a beach party ( which we missed). We went there for snorkling. The variety of fish is fair enough, but due to rainfalls the previous days the water was pretty troubled and the sight wasn't that good. Since we snorkeled for a week around Pigeon Island we might be totally spoiled, anyway. It is well worth seeing and I would go there again if I stayed in Unawatuna or Galle.
