“Not as good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

I have been to lucky tuna before and this time around the food was not up to standard. I had the tuna steak and a seafood mixed rice. The tuna was over cooked and the cut was not a good one. Rice was ok but I have had much better fried rice. The staff though were very nice and the location is perfect. I could have come on a off day!

“Awesome BBQ food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

Totally disagree with lots of the other reviews about the quality of the food. Either they had bad luck, or they are complete food snobs!

The very nature of BBQ and its smokey yumminess lends itself to comments of being "overcooked", but our jumbo prawns smothered in delicious garlic butter with a big pile of Sri Lankan style "slaw" on the side was some of the best sea food we had in Sri Lanka.

Staff were perfectly attentive, location was great (though similar to plenty of other places on the beach) and the beer was cold.

Would absolutely recommend for BBQ sea food by the sea!

“Not a great experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

You could be fooled into thinking your on for a great night here as the place is busy in high season and atmosphere good . Alarm bells should ring when you have to pay for your food in advance though and the reason for this is because they don't deliever quality & value for high prices charged . The fish looks great on the display table but when served it was overcooked. The advertized " salad " was an unrefrigerated warm salad ( think tablespoon on size portion per person ) and the side plate size of chips which was supposed to feed 8 of us was a joke . When we complained we got a vacant look from the boss and nothing else .
Basically , dont bother with this place ....move on to Kingfisher wher food is excellent , staff are friendly and portions fill you up .

“Mishandled tuna”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

Ordered fresh tuna. In came a slice of over-cooked tuna with quite a lot of bones in, close to totally ruined. And almost tasteless.
