This temple was given by Japan to Sri Lanka. It so white and, like the name says, peaceful. Not many tourist visited it while we were there, which made the visit even nicer.

Three of us walked to the Pagoda from Pokhara, and back. The trail is uphill to the pagoda and takes a few hours. There have been reports of muggings in the past and it is probably safest to go after 9 am when there are more people around, and walk in a group. We did not feel any apprehension today. Once you cross the suspension bridge below which locals do their washing, clean themselves and swim, you turn right up some steps, then turn left on a path passing fields on your left and with a high fence on your right until you can find the trail through a wide gate in the fence. On the return hike we saw many monkeys. This walk back is much quicker.
The pagoda itself is interesting and there are enough English signs to get an idea of what the place is about. There are quite a fewer restaurants to relax in and enjoy the beautiful view of lake Fewa ( Phewa Tal) and Pokhara city.
Rather than hiking back you can, alternatively, choose to walk down to the lake to get a boat back to lakeside or take a taxi .
This activity is a nice day out with exercise and rewarding views.

Good place to visit on the road to Jungle beach from Unawatuna. You can take tuktuk from the main road or walk from Unawatuna beach through jungles.

Incredible pagoda to go and visit. We walked the 10 mins from our hotel to get there. Recommend in the morning when it’s a little cooler.

Just like any other Pagoda. More meaningful for a Buddist. Close to Jungle Beach so worth a visit on your way.
