we stayed in this hotel over christmas, and we had an amazing time. The place itself is lovely, we had a deluxe room for the first 5 nights then got moved to one of the chalets where the spa is located (this was the hotels mistake - but a good mistake to make as the chalet was inamoungst beautiful gardens with a swimming pool). The staff were very friendly and helpful and they made you feel very welcome. The hotel looks onto the beach, which has its own alcove because of the way the coral lies - in sri lanka the waves can get quite big, so the peaceful waters here were ideal for swimming in or just lounging about in!! I was searching so many hotels before coming across this one, and I'm really glad i did - as it helped make our holiday brilliant.

Wound up here on New Years Day having fled the nightmare that is now Mirisa! This hotel is a sanctuary and great value - book ahead to avoid experiencing some of the filthy rooms and lousy service that abound in Dalewalla.

Has a great beach location, really friendly and helpful staff (the food is not brill - avoid the pizza!) and nothing is too much trouble.

We stayed in the Bungalows in the ayurveda garden. This was excellent. Almost a private pool in the middle of the jungle and nice garden. If you want to go too the main hotel then you can walk or call for a free pick up. Of course you can book for a room with sea view in the main hotel building. Very nice staff who are going the extra mile for you. The sea is ok for small children. (Natural pool) and snorkeling.
Ok for longer stay.

Sri Gemunu provided us (parents and 14, 17 and 20 year old children) with the ideal end to a tour of Sri Lanka. The staff were unfailingly helpful, and did all they could to accommodate us. The beach was rather small at this time of year (off season - monsoon due to start). We did however benefit from the personal attention we got from the staff.

The hotel has a swimming pool about 800 metres away up a quiet lane. This provided us with hot sunbathing and coll swimming. The beach had more wind and therefore was cooler.

The rooms were clean and straightforward.

The hotel is located right on a private, secluded beach by the Indian Ocean. We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days.
The staff at this hotel could not do enough for us! They were extremely welcoming and friendly. My girlfriend and I were treated like family and will definitely go back next year.

The hotel is very clean, and the facilities are basic, but more than adequate. We ate at the hotel buffet each night and there was something different for all tastes.

I recommend going on the day trips to Kogalla lake and the turtle hachery. Also, the tea plantation was very interesting.

We went to Unawatuna beach one night as it was busier, but that was just to go gift shopping in the town.

There was a wedding at our resort as a couple staying there was getting married, All the guests were invited and we got to see an elephant!

So on the whole, I would highly recommend this hotel. I do not have anything negative to say about it. Perhaps the breakfast could be a bit more varied, however, I finished my plate each morning so I cant complain!

Well done Sri Gemunu for making our holiday a special one!
