This beautiful little hotel is tucked away on a very private beach just a 30 minute drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. The French proprietors have created a place with a distinctly European feel - rather refined, private, and carefully put together. The pool is a nice change from the beautiful warm beach (the water is quite sandy). The French dinners looked great, though as a vegetarian I did not partake. As a solo traveler I was looking for more chatter with the management, however for couples or folks who prefer privacy, this is a beautiful choice! 12 km of almost deserted beautiful clean beach... aahhhhh. The beach is audible from the porch where breakfast (fruit and toast and coffee) is served. I recommend the rooms with AC unless you are pretty accustomed to sleeping in warm places!

Room Tip: Rooms WITH AC are a good idea.

Went to Beso del Viento at the end of March and did not want to be in a busy place, got exactly that, the location is great and you hear the waves at night. Bernard is a great host, the place is very clean, good breakfast. Merci Bernard et Elisabeth.

Its piece of paradise! Beso del Viento is best hotel we had ever stay! If you looking for quiet place to rest - this is it. It is situated 20 minutes by car from Manuel Antonio, and 30 minutes to Jaco, where you can find a lot of touristic attractions. Hotel is very small, so all the sound which you will hear this is the sound of wild nature, no one will disturb you. There is nice pool, so you can swim there if you don’t like waves, because ocean weaves are strong, but we swam with great pleasure. The beach with beautiful black sand is just 10 steps from the hotel and very deserted, that’s why very clean. Service in Beso del Viento exceptional, it’s always very clean. Owners Bernard and Elizabeth are extremely nice and helpful, they will help you to get the best vacation possible, and although they will provide to you the best information about local attractions and CR in general. Bernard is chef, and he is really great! We miss his culinary masterpiece, and especially desserts! We were staying in Beso del Viento for 3 nights, after that we went to Papagaya gulf, but after just one night spending there, we came back to Beso del Viento, because it is really best place in CR. Maybe one of world best places! And every room is special is stylish and attention to details is amazing! We recommend Beso del Viento for all couples who are travel around CR and want to find small romantic, quiet hotel with best service and very nice people! Especially for those, who hates or tired from big network hotels.

We stopped one night @ Beso del Viento during our discovery of the Pacific Coast in Costa Rica. The B & B is located in a secluded area of Parrita just facing a beautiful sandy beach.
Our room are extremely cosy and nicely decorated. All necessities were provided. You have access to a pool and this is just nice to relax after a long drive.
The hosts were available at all time to us.
A delicious basic breakfast was included - fresh papaya juice, toasts & jam, plate of fresh fruits & coffee.
Apparently, it's possible to eat French cuisine at dinner but it was not available for us as we stayed on Sunday night.
I should say that you will be informed of the rules of the house when you arrived. It's seems a bit strict but understandable knowing there are a lot of guests visiting.
Why not enjoying a nice sunset on the beach just before dinner? It's a good address!

This guy is really crazy about his floor... Avoid the place if you have kids and like to have fun. But go there if you like to eat late and go bed right after! The beach is good though the dueño does not provide towels... The room is not air-conditioned which OK at night but during the day, it can be hell.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your comments. Positive as well negative reviews are welcome by us, especially the latter, since it provides us with an opportunity to clarify the points made by those who have stayed with us; at the same time, our response will inform others that might me interested in visiting.

As you might have been aware when checking our website before your booking came through, we don't accept children in our hotel. We feel that most hotels accept them, which is wonderful, but we also understand that there are guests who prefer a much quieter environment and we cater to them. The tranquility of this area is an asset that many of our guests treasure.

You might also have been aware that we offer rooms with fans OR with air-conditioning. Since your choice was a room with a fan, we are at a loss to understand the reasons behind your complaint that your room did not have A/C - it seems to us the choice for one or the other is rather obvious. Regarding the beach towels, you are right: we don't provide those for the beach, only for the swimming pool and we regret that this caused you a problem, as did the fact that we ask our guests to take their shoes off inside the hotel since the beautiful teak-wood floors take badly to grinding sand or muddy treking shoes. It is worthwhile to note that most of them enjoy the delicious feeling of the soft wood on the soles of their feet!

The dinner is served between 7 and 7.30 p.m. because it seems the best time for those guests who have reserved a table and have gone on an excursion or a day-trip to some other site in the area; they usually return at the end of the day to rest for a short while or to have a dip in the pool before dinner and we must take into consideration their needs as well. We don't force our guests to go to bed immediately after dinner - we leave that decision entirely to them.

Respectfully

Bernard, Owner of the hotel

This place is amazing! I planned a trip to Costa Rica for a week and wanted to stay some place close to San Jose airport and on the beach. The hotel is about 2.5-3 hours from the aiport and located down a dirt road on a beautiful, secluded beach.

Elizabeth and Bernard, the owners, were excellent hosts. The hotel is extremely clean and feels very European. The pool and grounds are beautiful and very well maintained.

We were able to eat dinner at the restaurant 5 out of our 7 nights and the food was fabulous. I found Costa Rican food a little boring... mainly just rice and beans/seafood/chicken. It was great to have a very nice dinner to look forward to during the day and have good wines (another hard thing to find in Costa Rica) available every day. I loved that it was a fixed menu and you ate whatever Bernard felt like cooking that day. It felt very personal and the food was always great. Portions are very generous so I recommend eating a light lunch.

Overall, it was excellent and I can't wait to return. It felt like paradise and was such a good value too.

We celebrated the New Year in Beso del Viento after a busy tour of Costa Rica. It was an ideal place to chill out. Our room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean although there's only a curtain separating it from the bathroom. Bernard and Elizabeth are warm hosts and make you feel very welcome. You can't swim in the sea because of rip currents but you can paddle there or else use the pool. Food is very French and very good but a little too rich for the tropics. We were directed to a nearby restaurant for lunch where I had the best fish soup ever. A home from home where you can even wash and dry your clothes on their back patio.
