We stayed here for one night and it was definitely a good choice. We had a double room with en-suite which was spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower quite big. Yes, the walls are thin, but it didn't bother us much. Our room was upstairs, which had a sitting area where you could use wifi and enjoy the sounds of nature. Breakfast was good which had a variety of gallo pinto, eggs, pancakes, fruits, juices etc. It was the typical Costa Rican breakfast. The location is well appointed being walking distance to discos, and restaurants. Andrés who worked at the front was super chill and nice. We enjoyed chatting with him about everything as we were waiting for some friends. This is definitely a good spot to stay while in the area.

Camino Verde is a step above most of Santa Elena's hodge podge lodging. It is incredibly whimsical with walls made with bottles, winding paths and a quirky collection of buildings. Everything was clean and serviceable if slightly worn. Jose and his brother were so hospitable and go above and beyond to help guests have the best experience possible. They helped book us on some amazing excursions including canyoning. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. If you need lunch or dinner- we highly recommend Soda Bonanza two doors down- truly an authentic and delicious meal!

We stayed here the week of Thanksgiving and compared to the other hostels we were at in Costa Rica, this was one of the nicest. Clean rooms, bathrooms, we had a room with private bathrooms. The only bad thing I would say is the walls are really thin, you can literally have a conversation through them without yelling. We could see the Pacific Ocean from our second floor room, nice views.
The guys in the main office went way out of their way to help, though. We were close to having a medical emergency and Andres took it seriously and gave us information on hospitals in the town, when the taxis stop running, where to find one before they stop, and said to even knock on his door if we needed anything in the middle of the night. Luckily nothing serious did happen so we didn't have to worry, but we really appreciated his help and that he didn't think we were making it up or treated it like nothing. Excellent excellent customer service.

We stayed here three nights to explore the area of Santa Elena.

The hostel is centrally located and everything is within walking distance. The beds were comfy, the breakfast was nice! The rooms don't have air con, but you absolutely don't need it. At nighttime we appreciated a jumper or even a jacket when leaving for dinner...

The tours we booked through the hostel were good and professionally organized (we did the night walk, Cloud Forest Tour and the Don Juan Coffee Tour).

To get a good overview of the area two days are good, three days are plenty. Don't expect to see a lot of animals in the reserve. Too many tourists and too big area for them to hide. The coffee tour is very good and we were very impressed by a nighttime visit at the frog pond!

The value of this hotel cannot be beat. You get a nice room, breakfast, proximity to town, and the best staff ever! We really cannot say enough about how nice our stay was. Andres helped us book three last minute tours, was always so friendly, and helped us change our flat tire. We wish we had stayed longer and recommend this location for anyone going to Monteverde.

Monteverde was our second destination in Costa Rica (after San Jose), and we did not plan much on transportation, acitivities, and even some places to stay after Monteverde. Jose helped out on all of these, which enabled us to enjoy the rest of the trip without any hassle or worries. We stayed 3 nights in Camino Verde, and enjoyed our stay. Clean room, great breakfast, and more than anything --friendly help from Jose. Thanks for giving us great memory and wonderful impression to Monteverde.

Staying at Camino Verde was the best decision we could have made on our trip to Monteverde. The location was just a short walk to town, the property is beautifully decorated, and the views are incredible. During our stay we took a wildlife tour, coffee plantation tour, we went zip lining, and canioneering. All of these excursions were booked by Andre and Jose when we arrived at Camino Verde and they were all top-notch. They made our stay so stress-free and enjoyable. I strongly recommend you choose CV when looking for a place to stay in the cloud forest.
