Right in the centre of Santa
Elena just 2 minutes from a good supermarket. The room was clean, the shower powerful and hot. There was coffee available throughout the day and a great choice of breakfast options. The owner got up early to make sure we could have breakfast before a 7am start for Monteverde. Great internet and a very knowledgeable host.

This was our favorite hostel that we stayed at in Costa Rica. The owner and his family were very friendly. He organized our zip line tour and transportation onto Tamarindo. Location was good. The best part was the breakfast. It was made to order. We both got the breakfast burritos and they were delicious. I would recommend staying here.

We stayed at eddy b&b for 3 nights. Rooms are clean with tv, mini fridge ,free wifi great breakfast included ( no fan or a/c but at least when we stayed there, there was no need). Freddy and the staff were super nice and helpful. Freddy offers wonderful guidance on the activities around monteverde and some discounts for certain tour operators. We took the coffee tour and a sunset horseback riding trips and enjoyed both.
The place is located just across the st from the bus that takes you to the monteverde reserve ( most other transportation for tours picks you up at the b&b). Also there is a supermarket within 2 min walking distance and a further minute walk to the village's Main Street. There is a communal kitchen available for use if you want to cook for yourself.
We couldn't be more happy about our stay with eddy b&b and to top it all it was great value for money.

This is a review to say a big thank you to the staff at Cabinas Eddy. Not just for the excellent standard of accommodation provided (hot water, tour advice, wifi, comfy rooms - all fantastic) but for the patience and helpfulness of the staff. My partner and I needed to leave monteverde quite early the next morning of our arrival. Even before 7pm the staff were on the phone desperately trying to organise a transfer for us, which at the very last minute (they only had an hour) they found one! Following our whirlwind rush to pack, I left my towel and a very expensive leather jacket on the back of the door. 2 days later I realised what I'd done and contacted Cabinas Eddy. they'd held it aside for me. I contacted our transfer company which not only offered to deliver the jacket to our new destination in Manuel Antonio, but also for free. I am so grateful to both companies for all their help and for wearing a smile the whole time despite our mistakes! Thank you!

I can't say enough good things about Cabinas Eddy and Freddy (the owner). The hotel was great - kind of an atmosphere mix of hotel and hostel. They have quite a few tables as you enter that people will hang out at, chatting and eating. The breakfast (that is included) is really tasty - especially the banana pancakes. The mattress appeared to be foam (comfy!) and had a really interesting blanket (with an eagle on it) that made the place feel a bit more like home.

Unlike some of the reviewers, we didn't have any problems with the water pressure or temperature of the showers. Cabinas Eddy actually was the best shower (warmest and most pressure) of all 4 places we stayed in Costa Rica (which included a 5 star resort). It may be because he updated or because we were there during the warmer season.

Freddy is amazing - he is possibly the most patient, kind person on the face of the planet and he seems to know everything you could want to know about the surrounding attractions. He gave us a map when we arrived and highlighted the tours/attractions he'd heard the most positive reviews on. His family is also present fairly regularly and quite sweet. We did not have the pleasure of interacting with them quite as much as we did with Freddy.

Lastly, another reason to stay at this place - fairly near by (~100-200 meters) sloths seemed to like to hang out! We were even able to see a mom and baby sloth!

This was the first place I stayed on a month long journey in Costa Rica. And it definitely set the bar high.

The rooms were clean and affordable ($15/person for a private double). The rooms were cleaned everyday. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The common areas were kept spotless and had plenty of nice places to sit down and enjoy a meal or write a letter.

The service was exceptional. Every day started with a small plate of fruit and an egg dish with some vegetables. If you're on the go they will make an egg sandwich and pack it in foil at no extra cost. They quickly and kindly answered all our question and helped get us arranged with tours.

In terms of location, they are at the bottom of a short, steep hill that's leads to a supermarket and the center of town. It is easy to get groceries or to get around town via the many buses and shuttles that go from place to place. We never had a problem getting anywhere.

Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone from solo travelers to families.

I cannot saw anything negative about here! The staff was so helpful and friendly. They made everything easy from making a reservation to booking tours to checking us out. They were even able to save us money on tours that we had priced out elsewhere and the laundry they did for us was the freshest smelling and cleanest of our entire trip!

We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the shower was steaming hot!

As almost all the reviews say, we too found the breakfast here amazing.

After being on the road for a while, staying at Eddy's was refreshing and greatly appreciated! Thanks for a great stay!
