“OK but would not return”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Food was on the cheap side but not nearly as cheap as nearby Soda La Salvadita which was cheaper and excellent. Rice was burntish, plantains overcooked, fish OK. Service was fine, they had some American girl working for the Costa Rican owner. The place was recommended to us by our hostel owner, who turns out is the restaurant's daughter. Food is fine but would recommend finding someplace else.

“Great food, very filling. Nice place!”
Reviewed 4 February 2014 via mobile

I ordered the Casado with chicken and it came with a salad, avocado, and mash potato. Very nice and filling. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. A little out of the way, so ask someone if you are unsure.

“Ok”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

I ordered the corvina y salsa blanca. Fish seemed overcooked and dry, same with the rice. My husband had the house nachos, which was more like plain chips and a side of tomato sauce. It was a convenient place to eat based on our location and the service was friendly but we won't be eating there again despite the affordable pricing.

“Good food”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

Good little soda.
This place really hit it home for me.
The casado con arroz was perfect and delicious.
Fast service and very friendly.
I like the restaurant also because it is off of the main street which can be hectic
and loud and full of gas fumes from very close traffic.
very nice spot.

“Great little soda”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

Soda La Amistad is located right next to my hostel in Santa Elena and made for a very convenient meal. Serves typical local fare (casado, arroz con pollo, sopas, etc) at reasonable prices, and I was always happy with the excess of plantains that was included with each dish. My favorite thing about the restaurant was the Common Phrases list that they posted at each table to help with potential language barriers.

Tip: order the hot sugar cane juice. It's divine on cold nights.
