This place is an absolute jewel! Our family of six had a wonderful three nights in one of the cabinas. The cabinas are clean, the gardens are beautiful and the hosts bend over backwards to ensure you have a wonderful stay. I would recommend Cabanas Valle Campanas to anyone that wants a quiet, friendly, convenient place to stay near Monteverde. We can't wait to go back!

We had a family group of 13 (9-79 years old), and Valle Campanos suited us perfectly. It would also be perfect for a couple or a smaller family group. The warm and personal service, friendly invitations to all manner of activities, and lovely rooms and grounds were all beyond our expectations. There was no street noise at all. The kids (and grandma!) enjoyed horseback riding; we were invited to meet an agouti, to see how sugarcane is processed, to view a porcupine, and to milk a cow. The breakfasts were filling and very fresh. The host family is lovely and warmly invites without being pushy. Reina set us up with an excellent birdwatching guide; we couldn't have asked for more!

Room Tip: ask about the bed set-up. All rooms have mini-kitchen, all with different bed arrangements.

This little Finca is truly extraordinary. The setting, the hospitality, the food were among the best we encountered in our recent weeklong stay in CR. The cabins are set apart from one another on the elegant grounds creating a rustic feel. The hosts are usually available to help travelers arrange tours, entertainment, transportation, or dining. The grounds includes a lovely forest replete with a remarkable variety of birds, butterflies and flowering plants all on a short 20 minute walk. Breakfast is another sensory delight- the fruit, beans, coffee, juices, milk, sugar and cheese are all produced on site from the bounty of their little farm, which they will gladly show you. If you would like to get a sense of life in Costa Rica- the "Pura vida" that Costa Ricans extoll, you can find it at Cabanas Valle Campanas.

My family stayed at this small hotel in Monteverde for three days last week. I can't say enough about it. The host family - led by Reina, who oversees the hotel - were fantastic people who made sure our every need was met. Whether it was laundry, cooking exemplary breakfasts, or making last-minute, rush reservations for a family activity, Reina always came through. She was also good enough to give us a short tour of her family's working farm, which was a real treat and gave us a chance to drink some freshly minted Sugar Cane juice. The cabin we stayed in was two stories with plenty of space, and all four of us look at our stay here as one of the true highlights of our fantastic trip to Costa Rica.

An extra note about Reina's breakfasts: they were the best we had in Costa Rica, period. Great fruit juices, coffee picked and roasted on site, fresh EVERYTHING made lovingly and deliciously by Reina and her great staff. I highly recommend Canbas Valle Campanas.

Room Tip: We requested a cabin with two floors and we're very glad we did. Worth the nominal extra expense. Plenty of beds and everyone had room to stretch out.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The owners gave very personalized service and even took time out of their day to give us a tour of their gardens. They have a wonderful family and made our stay in Monte Verde very special. We would definitely go back!!!!
