Hotel Der Stubaierhof
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 27 February 2011

We stayed at the Hotel Stubaierhof for our annual skiing holiday. As a family with 2 young children we felt that the hotel was ideally equipped to meet our needs. At circa EUR 1,750 for all four of us (HB rate including lift pass) this hotel represented exceptional value for money. The food was good, and contrary to other comments previously posted, we found that the menu was varied and plentiful. Notwithstanding the occasional 'local cuisine' there was ample menu choices to meet the tastes of all palates.
Due to a late booking we could not get into the main hotel, so we were accommodated in the 'Fuxhof' apartments. The 2-3 minute walk from the main hotel was more than compensated for by the ample space afforded in these family apartments (c70 square meters!). The room was serviced daily and the cleaning staff ensured that it was spotlessly clean (even with our constant mess making).
The hotel itself is well appointed with a swimming pool, fitness suite and spa. The children particularly enjoyed the play room which also offered the adults some respite at the end of a long day!
The only slight negative was the geographic dislocation of the hotel from the main skiing area - albeit this is pretty much in common with all other hotels in the Stubai valley. That said, an early breakfast followed by a 20 minute drive still got us to the base of the mountain in time for the first lift of the day. Even with a fairly heavy snow falls the roads were always kept clear and we had no problems getting to or from the Stubai Glacier.
Hotel staff were superb and couldn't do enough to ensure that we all had a pleasant stay. We will definitely be booking again next year, although I suspect that we will try and book a little earlier for a room in the main hotel.
In summary, an excellent hotel that truly meets it's 4* remit whilst also retaining an exceptionally competitive price structure.

We travel to Austria to two different mountain resorts every year by Inghams , this year it included Neustift & stayed at the Hotel Stubaierhof , it was in a valley with all types of walks which we enjoyed , but you could also use the gondolas up the mountains . My wife even had her first at 77 Tandem Para Gliding flight! The Hotel was of a very high quality, fantastic food , pleasant staff & well trained , so we had good views --- an enjoyable holiday.

This hotel is awesome. I have stayed here three times and have had a great experience each time.
Facts: the rooms are spotless, the showers are hot and have great pressure, the desk service is impeccable and very friendly, the sauna/pool areas are clean and inviting, and the breakfast is immense- worth waking up to enjoy! If anything is not to your pleasure, the staff is more than willing to accomodate. The halb pension is a good deal as well, since there are salad options, lovely desserts, and satisfying main course options. The hotel is well situated close to the center of Neustift which makes going out and about easy. Ski shuttle bus stops are close by as well.

My wife and I had five nights here as part of a motoring holiday. To be honest we were attracted by the extremely advantageous half-board prices. The hotel itself is a beautiful typical Tyrolean building and we had an amazing suite in the new extension.I have never had such a large room anywhere in the world. The bathroom was huge but it was here where our problems started. On the first night there was no hot water. The receptionist was most concerned and promised to have things looked at.On returning to the hotel on the second night we were told that everything was fine but yet again no hot water. The third night, the power had been off for five hours so no one had hot water.I believe they run their boilers at half capacity in summer and I learned they had turned on extra capacity to finally provide hot water for our last two nights. The management were always highly apologetic but believed a complimentary bottle of wine was sufficient to placate us.
The wine was fine but it needed to be because the food was pretty grim.I don't like to have to place my dinner order at breakfast. There was no choice except for the main course and the food they produced was dull, boring and poorly presented. We were staggered by the amount of tinned vegetables and fruit they used.It was also served far too early-from 6.30.We dined about 7.30 and by 8.30 we were the only ones in the restaurant.
They obviously keep their summer rates low to attract guests but then seek to make savings and that was done on the food budget.
It was a great shame because the rooms are great.the spa is fine and the location is stunning.
Altogether a real disappointment-a potentially 1st rate hotel ruined by third rate food.

We spent a week walking in the Alps and used the hotel as our main base. We couldn't fault a thing. The staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel like part of the family. The spa was a pleasant surprise and we spent many hours relaxing by the pool and warming our weary bones in the sauna and steam rooms. All the spa facilities were clean and modern. The actual bedroom was a good size with great views over the valley. The 7 course evening meal was amazing!
A wonderful hotel that reflects the atmosphere of the surrounding area and includes all the mod cons you expect from a top quality hotel.
