I stay here once a month for a few days because my company is based in Graz. The Urdlwrit is a very clean, no-frills hotel and its extremely affordable! The rate of 54 EUR includes wifi and a simple buffet breakfast. The service is very good too - the staff is very nice and attentive.

Just don't expect it to come with the ammenities that you might be used to - they dont provide any shampoo/conditioner/soap or bottled water in your room. The tv channels are all German as well.

The restaurant in the lobby is well known in Unterpremstatten (probably because there are so few good ones!) because it makes really good home cooking and they are very nice about adapting it to your taste, you just need to ask.

This was a nice surprise. We were going for the Airpower 2011 in Zeltweg and first found this hotel to be a bit too far from there. But then were extremely grateful. The hotel is an example of the best German (sic) tradition - flawless contruction, extremely clean, very comfortable (although no elevator) in a quite suberb of Graz (5 min from Graz Airport) and a very nice and helpful staff (salute to family run hotels!), although only the receptionists speak English (we found no waiter in the restaurant to speak English).

All the positive reviews are true and accurate. They have great rooms that easily fit a family of 2+2 teens so we did not have to pay for 2 rooms. Location is perfect for an easy 1 day drive from Warsaw if you're heading south. Recommended.

The place is remote (about 25 minutes to downtown Graz) - but close to airport and highway. The landscape is beautiful. Rooms are spotlessly clean, equipped with wooden furniture, WLAN quality is excellent and free of charge. Also there is a large flat screen with free-of-charge channels, which other hotels usually charge (such as Discovery Channel). Checking in and out I had to wait for some time, obviously the boss does it all himself ;-). The restaurant, which is very busy most of the time provides excellent local food. Good time to visit is in autumn with a variety of nice pumpkin food. Taste the pumpkin seed soup with cream !

When you are assigned the room, ask for one with view to the landscape. Otherwise it may happen (as to me) that you get a room close to the entrance door of the guest houses (there are 2 of them, separated from the main building.

Overall, you cannot do wrong booking this hotel at very modest rates (I had 54 Eur including BF).

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as a base of operations for visiting tourist attractions reachable by car from Graz. The hotel room was spacious, modern, and clean.
We ate our evening meal in the hotel restaurant twice – the food was very good and affordable and the restaurant is quite large with a large outdoor eating area as well. The breakfast came with the room and included sausage and eggs as well as dry cereal, fruit juices and various pastries and rolls. Our room on the back side of the hotel was perfect, plenty of room, perfectly finished and maintained. The hosts (two brothers, a sister, and sister-in-law descended from the original proprietor, their grandfather) were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel location was perfect for our needs, as it is very near but outside the city of Graz, with ready access to truly country roads as well as both major freeways (going north-south and east-west in Styria). I tend to be very sensitive to noises and yet slept perfectly all 4 nights (back building, 2nd floor as we say in the states, or 1st floor in Europe), so it was definitely quiet. There was no AC, which we didn’t need at all, but perhaps that could be a problem in the warmest days of summer – we were there in late May. The room also had a balcony with a very nice view. We also took a couple of walks around the neighborhood in the evening – a very pleasant and safe residential area abutting farmland, with retail stores on the main streets. There are a couple of supermarkets and gas stations very close by. Access to the hotel is very easy and there is plenty of parking all around the hotel buildings.
