“Unusual spot worth the visit”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 via mobile

Nice place ,has been refurbished since we last visited, food very good and fair pricing, only one criticism, the waitress either needs better training or she does not like the English as she just plonked the dishes down, shame really as it was all otherwise enjoyable

“Well worth a special trip”
Reviewed 20 November 2012

This is one of a handful of seafood restaurants here and I had been wanting to visit for some time being a fan of oysters and mussels. Although we were first to arrive at 1200 the place was packed by 1300 so even at lunchtime a reservation is probably advisable. I had the assiette decouverte to start which is a selection of 6 oysters. Hard to believe the differences in taste. All were great though. Followed by moules as a main which were very fresh and light years better than some more expensive versions I have tasted, (and reviewed) in much more expensive restaurants. The restaurant is very friendly with a very helpful proprietor. Excellent location almost at the very tip of Rue Martyrs. Can be a bit tricky to find from Marennes but well worth a detour.

“Simple and effective!”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

This simple, yet lovely little restaurant provides great seafood - fresh and tasty. Ordered the crab mayonnaise expecting a small crab salad but received an enormous fresh crab - excellent value for money. The oysters of course were superb. Courteous and professional staff. Sparkling clean, simply laid tables, cutlery, glasses etc. Great little restaurant!

“Great seafood”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

Lovely place to eat. Very accommodating. We didn't have reservations and arrived with a party of six (2 adults and 4 teens). Staff promptly began to rearrange tables on the terrace for us. Two of the teens (friends of our kids) tried a seafood platter for the first time and we had lots of fun showing them how to dissect all the weird stuff on the plate. After dessert, they wandered around the little harbour, got some live critters from the oyster fisher guys while we finished our coffee. Great outing !

“fantastic seafood!”
Reviewed 14 May 2012

We stumbled across this restaurant, and loved it so much we had to eat there twice in two days! All the freshest seafood, prepared wonderfully, and even quite accommodating to having our two little kids along. Highly recommended. The location is amazing, along a canal just before it dumps into a river, just before it heads to the sea. The atmosphere is lovely and casual.
