“Personal, Quality Experience for a Santorini First Timer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

I visited Santorini with three friends and we chose this family-owned place. Incredible customer service (they even shuttled us to and from the airport for free), kind staff, nice rooms and a great price. I would highly recommend this place- although you do have to find transportation to get to Oia or the beach, since it's a bit isolated.

My sister and I visited Santorini for the first time this past January, and I did a lot of research on where to stay vs location, value, staff, etc. I don't think I could have picked a better place to stay because the owner and his family were so lovely and treated us like family.
They picked us up from the airport and brought us to the hotel were they had upgraded our room for free. He and his wife sat us down right away and circled places on a paper map where we should go and explained how to get there. They invited us for free breakfast at their house every morning and even left homemade food in our room for when we got back! I couldn't have felt more at home :)
It's not in the middle of town, but it only takes 10-15 min to walk to the caldera and there are little places to eat and shop along the way. There's also a convenience store right around the corner from the hotel.
There are cats and dogs that run free all around Santorini and they can get into your room if you let them (my sister and I took in a cute cat for 30 min and gave it fresh water). However, you can just shoo them and they'll get lost.
I would absolutely stay here again during the high season; the family was amazing and the prices were unbeatable for the service and home-like ambience of the rooms. Book this place!

We went right before tourist season (April), and this are the pros and cons:

Pros:
- Stavros (and his family) are awesome, awesome people. He picked us up from the port himself at 1am, drove us into town the next day, gave us wine. He hooked us up with a guy to rent a car from (so we didn't have to go pick up and drop off the car), sold us boat tickets to the volcano (for the same price as everywhere else, so we didn't have to waste time shopping around), gave us hugs and kisses before we left. Stavros is the man.
- showers are hot, with sufficient water pressure. Glorious showers. Rooms have heater/AC with a stove.

Cons:
- if you aren't renting a car, you are taking the bus everywhere, which sucks. In low time (not summer), the buses apparently run on a random basis. It is very possible to walk from Stavros to Fira, but the villa isn't exactly close to anything.
- thought breakfast was included, but it isn't. it isn't expensive at all, but the thing on the door said it was free.
- walls are pretty thin
- like most places on the island, they only accept cash (no credit card)
- mattresses and pillows are firm (I don't mind, but my companion didn't like it)

Room Tip: Don't leave food lying around because bugs can easily get through the door.

The villa was super nice, it was very spacious and had lots of room. Ask for a ride from the family from the airport, they graciously drove us! The bathroom has a small shower making it impossible not to spray and soak the whole floor. The pool is very chilly but quite refreshing on a hot day. Breakfast was 5 euros which is reasonable considering breakfast anywhere else is atleast 10-15 euros each. The day trip to the volcano & hot springs was probably the worst decision made. The volcano walk is trecherous, sweltering hot and unenjoyable whereas the hot springs ruined our bathingsuit, luke warm weather with an awful stench. Not enjoyable or worth the 20 euros. The villa AC hardly worked so it was super hot and impossible to sleep. The price of the hostal was a bit much considering, we've stayed at nicer places for less. But still a good time and would recommend it.

This place was a home away from home. The Stavros family are so lovely and welcoming that we extended our stay 2 more nights. Our room was very clean and right next to the beautiful pool, so relaxing! It's about a 20minute walk to the bus stop but that was ine. My friend and I hired a quad, (organised through the hotel so it was dropped off at the hotel for us) and it was the perfect way to see the island. Loved Santorini and Stavros Villas! Would love to go back

We booked this villa at the last minute after the place we booked through Expedia did not have our reservation. I think this was a blessing in disguise! Stavros and his beautiful daughters were so wonderful and helped us with anything that we wanted. It was great value for money and also included free drop off and pick up from the port! As with past reviews, it is a little out of town, but the walk was not that bad! We found that we didn't want to catch the bus the one stop to Fira. Upon arrival we were offered iced coffees, which was lovely as it was a rather hot afternoon. I did not pay for the breakfast option, but my partner did, and each morning Stavros provided me with a coffee anyway! We definitely felt at home with Stavros and his family!!!
