“All mod cons!”

I usually like quiet beaches, but enjoyed the advantages or changing cabins, toilets, beds with umbrellas for 6 of 7 euros, and waiter's service for drinks and food.

“Magnificent Makris”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

The prize winning beach of Makris Gialos is located near the small area of Lassi not far from the main town of Argostolli. The sandy beach has car parking under trees, showers, toilets and a restaurant / bar with loungers and parasols. There is a water sports outlet with the usual range of water sports all available to hire. Walk to either end of the beach for rocky inlets to climb and explore. Its not the largest beach on the island so it can get busy in peak season but the quality is there which is why it is a prize winning beach.

This is a stunning beAch. We parked just off the main road and took the short stroll to the beach. The views nefore you get to the beach are stunning. The water is clear blue and I found the sand soft. It wasnt over packed and plenty of space to spread your towels out so you didnt feel pressured to buying a sunbed. A beach not to be missed

“Stunning beach”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Get there before 10am for waterfront beds. Red beds afford more personal space and are much easier to move around for shade also €2 cheaper at €6 for 2 beds + parasol. Great waiter service to beds and excellent range of snacks and drinks from Costa Costa cafe. Water is crystal clear with a slight shelf very few pebbles, saw all ages in bathing. Beach does get busy in the afternoon. Lovely, clean toilets, and showers at bottom of hill to rinse off sand before leaving the beach. Main access is a fairly steep hill on the main Lassi Rd heading towards the airport, step access from directly opposit Marinos apartments. We usually got waterfront beds as they are cooler, we noticed when leaving the beach that the farther back the beds were the hotter it got. There is a boardwalk but the sand gets very hot as the day goes on. There is a free area also if you have your own mats/chairs and parasol.

“Exemplary beach”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This long sandy beach with masses of sunbeds and parasols and a number of great little beachfront cafes had everything we could have asked for including jet skis, water-skiing, the cleanest and bluest sea, safe swimming and some great music - especially at the Costa Costa café.
