Unable to eat the food as the bread was often stale and rock hard, the poached eggs were like rubber and on several occasions the milk was off.
Rooms were in need of a great deal of maintenance, they were very small, some were that dark on entering the room they were like dungeons.
If you want a decent room book direct with the hotel as I have found through experience that this is the only way to get a decent room and not via a tour operator!
Not worth the money I paid for the hotel

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel, not through a tour operator

We had a lovely holiday at the Princess Hotel during half term week at the end of May 2014. The hotel is as pretty as a picture, in fact just like the photographs. Lovely staff, beautiful pool, gorgeous terrace for breakfast, snacks and drinks (Alex the barman was an absolute star), pretty grounds, clean room overlooking the pool and the sea in the distance. Our room (22) was a good size with a nice balcony. Breakfast was a bit 'hit and miss' at times but you could certainly find something to start the day! The hotel is opposite a gorgeous beach (best on the island) with a good choice of food and drink from several beach bars. Tavernas and bars for an evening meal are just a stroll away, the ones we tried were all very good and reasonably priced too. We were holidaying with our friends so we hired a car for a couple days. However there are plenty of organised tours that seemed good value so car hire is not essential. Can highly recommend this hotel, Chrissie the owner is lovely and rightly proud of her hotel. We shall most definitely return. Love the Princess Hotel and love Kefalonia!

Room Tip: Request Sea view / pool view room, we didn't okay extra for this but I expect that depends on the tine of year that you travel. Room 22 was great and our mates had room 38 above us! Both with pool and sea views

We stayed at the Princess for 5 nights in June and it is a great location with wonderful staff. It is very much a family run hotel and the manager is often on site speaking with guests an we even met the triplets, we found the reception staff did a great job always smiling an giving advice for guests. The pool bar area is a good set up an the place to be when you need Wi-Fi and the bar is well run by Alex. It is ideal for access to the best beach on the island. When you visit the rest of the island you can understand this is not an up market island like some of others nor are the prices. It is a relaxing location an this hotel fits with the island.
I would recommend an definitely stay again

Just returned from a week stay in the Princess with a family of 6. Having travelled a lot in Greece and knowing that you can't expect to much, a few things can be better.

Pros: lovely swimming pool, nice bar and area. Staff very kind.
Hotel grounds kept clean and in a good shape. Room was cleanend daily very good. Location good, at the end of the Lassi strip, with a beautiful beach in front of the hotel

Cons: breakfast was never ready at 08:00AM; sometimes as early as 08:30AM: staff was unorganised.
Shower was leaking, bath not in the best shape. Although a hotel, only fresh towels every 3th day. Prices at the bar too high: €9,50 for 1 espresso, 1 orange juice from a cheap brand mixed with water, 1 small botte of water.

Overall a nice stay in Lassi. With some improvements it would be 4 stars.

The Princess is a charming 3 star Greek hotel,in the resort of Lassi. The hotel is family owned and run and can be a little quirky eg no hot water in the shower at 6pm as all other guests are vying for the hot water! But look beyond the quirkiness and you will enjoy your stay at this hotel. the rooms are small and fairly basic although they do have fridge and safe box facilities, but are cleaned daily.
The food ( we had B&B) is good, although you are best not leaving breakfast till 9.30-10am as some items then seemed to be scarce. - best to arrive 8.15-9.15am.
Pool area is lovely and clean and well served for food and drinks.
Alex in the poolside bar is very good at cocktails and knowledgeable about football (we were there for the start of the World Cup). Prices are pretty reasonable and the aura of friendliness exudes from all parts of this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the princess (opposite the best beach in Kefalonia) and will probably visit again.

Room Tip: Try for an upper floor room with sea view if possible.
