Spent a week here 13th to 20th of June. First impressions were excellent, such a wonderful welcome and then a guided walk through the magnificent gardens to our room/suite.
We were most impressed with the suite we were allocated. On the upper floor with wonderful views across the gardens and down to the sea. The suite itself was immaculately clean and furnished to an incredibly high standard. Air conditioning worked a treat, and there is no extra charge for this, likewise the safe. By Greek standards the bathroom was great- although still a hand held shower, but this is to be expected. There is a full size hair dryer provided so no need to take your own. Huge fridge also.
The hotel is down a very quiet road about a 5 min walk up into Lassi so condusive to a peaceful nights sleep. Lassi is very low key, basically just a road lined with restaurants and supermarkets. We were a bit concerned before we went as some reviews had said the restaurants were not great. We needn't have worried, every place we ate was excellent, all using organic ingredients grown locally, and all family run, so you got not only great food but warm welcoming service too. Prices were incredibly cheap too, we paid about 22 Euros a night for a main course each with wine and water.
We attended the Greek evening at the hotel on the Sunday which was a BBQ and then dancing afterwards. Thank goodness the food was first class as the dancing didn't even register on the scale. One "dancer" accompanied by 2 reception staff who tried their best , and a crackly cd to provide the music. However, the food was wonderful, as were all the meals we ate there.
All in all, an excellent choice for a relaxing week. Not much to see or do so 1 week was fine. 2 weeks would have been too long. Also the complex would be ideal if it were adults only. Even though there was a childrens pool, they still insisted on swimming in the big pool, and when we ate at the hotel in an evening at times it was reminiscent of eating in a playschool with all the kids running around as soon as they had finished eating.
As the previous review, why not 5/5 ? After the initial welcome, it gradually tailed off during the week, to the point of the staff hardly being bothered to say hello when we passed them. Also we are early risers and breakfast is not served til 8 o'clock. On the couple of occasions we arrived to eat at approx. 7.55 it was as if we were an inconvenience and there were mutterings in Greek and the usual struggle to say a cheerful good morning, even though all the food was laid out ready. The goodbye when the taxi arrived was definitely not a patch on when we arrived, except from one of receptionists we had not met before, who gave us a hug and wished us a safe trip.
Despite the niggles we would still say it was an excellent choice, due to the standard of the suites, and the location
