“Terrible hotel!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013 via mobile

Read the reviews on tripadvisor and decided to go there. I found myself in a room with a sliding door, a bathroom which was around one square meter. All of my friends traveling with me had the same impression. I strongly recommend not to go there. I don't think that tripadvisor reviews are correct.

Dear Philippo Trivella
We are really sorry to see your review and to suggest that our little hotel is "terrible" and we are particularly offended by your comment "I don't think that tripadvisor reviews are correct." We take such comments extremely seriously and we did a full investigation to understand your experience and motivations.

Although you do not use your name and Tripadvisor still allows anonymous reviewers we take comments here extremely seriously. We have carefully looked through all our bookings and we identified your booking and the facts. Three rooms were booked for three nights and you arrived in the afternoon and only stayed for an hour or two. You then decided to leave at about 21:00. When my brother Aristides asked if everything was ok? you claimed that you were called back in Athens for work purposes. At no time did you complain or asked to be changed rooms or give us an opportunity to offer you some alternatives. Naturally we charged you for one night as we were not in a position to sell the rooms at the time you left.

You are right to say that many of our bathrooms are small. When the hotel was originally constructed it was the first hotel in Loutraki to have ensuite rooms. Unfortunately at the time the construction standards were such that bathrooms were very small as people were not spending much time in the rooms. Since then we have tried to increase the size and conveniences but we are constrained by the building. For some people having a big bathroom is really important and those we direct them to some other recently build hotels in the areas that have such facilities. Others enjoy our hospitality regardless the size of the bathroom.

We are only a small 2* family hotel that we offer an honest and suitable offering at a price that matches our product. It is a pity that you decided not to stay and experience our hospitality. In fact we have been modernising all the facility. In the period 2008-2012 we modernised all bathrooms and (although small) we have great facilities including a hydromassage in many of them. The beds have been all replaced in the last two years with the latest technology beds that gives you a superb sleeping experience. All rooms at the Hotel come with a flat TV, safe and hairdryer. The hotel has a satellite TV in the lobby, and offers free Wi-Fi access throughout. Hotel guests can start the day with a rich and freshly prepared Greek breakfast, including fresh fruit and juice, jams, croissants and cereal. Vegetarian options, gluten free and diabetic options are available upon request. Breakfast is extensive (especially for Greek standards) with fresh fruit, boiled eggs and sandwiches. We are going at extraordinary ends to make sure that are guests have a fantastic time and often people are surprised by our service.

But what we are really proud of is the hospitality of the Segas family that ensure that every customer is happy. This is reflected on the wonderful reviews on tripadvisor and on booking by our guests as well as our repeaters who over the years have become part of our extended family. We are only a 2* hotel and a 7* hospitality and attitude.

We wish you well on your travels and would like to reassure you that our little hotel is NOT "terrible" and all our tripadvisor reviews are genuine and reflect the hospitality we offer in the hotel.

We stayed in the Hotel Segas for a week and don't regret a single day. Hotel is very centrally located, close to the beach and restaurants. Very clean rooms and great breakfast. What made our stay extra special was the friendly and helpful owners of the hotel - Aris and his wife Maria. Always playing and giving treats to our kids. Definately good value for money.

Our stay in Loutraki was complemented by the friendly help of Aris and Maria (hotel owners) who made us very comfortable in this family hotel.

They provided invaluable assistance to one of our friends who needed medical supplies from a pharmacy in the weekend since pharmacies in Greece work on a roster on Saturday afternoons and Sunday.

We stayed overnight at Segas on our way to visit the mainland.
Upon our arrival, we could noticed that they didn't have our reservation, but had a room for us.
The bed was very confortable and the room clean. The shower is very tiny making very hard to take a shower.
Breakfast nothing special but enought.
Overvall, it was a good place to stay overnight but I thought the price was high comparing to the other hotels we stayed.

Dear Colamq
Thank you for writing a review and glad you enjoy your stay at Hotel Segas and Greece

We are glad you found the bed was very confortable. We recently invested in the highest quality and latest technology of beds and we are glad when our guests enjoy them. Unfortunatelly some of our shower are small due to the construction of the hotel.

We are surprised by your comment about our Breakfast. Hotel guests can start the day with a rich and freshly prepared Greek breakfast, including fresh fruit and juice, jams, croissants and cereal. Vegetarian options, gluten free and diabetic options are available upon request. Breakfast is extensive (especially for Greek standards especially for 2* hotels) with fresh fruit, boiled eggs and sandwiches.

Our prices are very competitive for the facilities and services we offer and excellent value for money and reflect the renovation we have done in the hotel and the facilities we offer as we have been modernising all the facility. This was our last stop on the way to the Athens airport after 9 nights in Greece. And our family unanimously decided that this was our best room in a small family owned hotel. The room we were didn’t offer any view, but I very t was clean, recently furnished with modern new furniture, with modern bathroom, and a perfect mist shower attachments. The air in the rooms was fresh, no carpets, the beds were very comfortable with sparkling clean sheets. The staff was very helpful and professional. The only remark we have is that for people who do not eat sugar and wheat there is not much in the breakfast. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends. The hotel is conveniently located to the bay-shore boulevard where all the activity is. Loutraki is 20 min away from the Ancient Corinth.

We had two days at this hotel at the start of July, it is literally minutes from the beach which is incredibly long, well serviced with numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. The rooms are very clean with good air con and helpful reception staff, we didn't have breakfast there but it was available.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Segas last year, in 2012, we were so impressed that we booked to come here again this year. As last year we came to Greece to watch trhe Akropolis Rally, part of the Worold Rally Championship. Loutraki is where it is based so it is ideal that we stay in the same town. The hotel is right in the middle of the resort, the directions on their website are easy to follow from any direction.

The Segas is a family run hotel, it is not the cheapest in town but, is really good, the rooms are exceptionaly clean, the beds are superbly comfortable, the breakfast is plentiful and fresh, especially the bread and the service second to none. There are tvs in all rooms and airconditioning.

I am writing this while we are still here - free wi-fi and there's a computer in reception. My husband has a very nasty cold, the hotel owners and staff have been kindness itself, we've been given camomille tea, lemons, honey and advice on what to do. We are in a little side street just off the square so it is quiet at night and during the day.

We would fully recommend a stay here for business or holidays.

Room Tip: I have not seen all the rooms but, from what other guests have said all the rooms are very nice, the...
