“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HOTEL IN TSAGARADA”
Reviewed 10 April 2013 via mobile

I recently stayed as a single traveller at The Lost Unicorn Hotel. The owners could not have made my stay more comfortable . The hotel is an old Pelion mansion presiding over the main square. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean and the hearty breakfast amazing. Such attention to detail is evident in all aspects of both the hotel and the resteraunt. As a vegetarian I very much appreciated the delicious meals , all made from locally sourced vegetables, fruit and cheese. This hotel is way above any other hotels that I have stayed at during many years of visiting different areas of Greece. Treat yourself and stay here !

A 19th-century traditional stoned built mansion surrounded by treas, spring waters and most amazing nature. The owners Christos and Claire are some of the most friendly, helpful, hospitable hotel owners that make sure you have an unforgettable time. The rooms are spotless, the beds amazingly comfortable, the breakfast memorable and the overall service unbeatable! An ideal retreat place for couples, solo or friends alike.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally quiet &comfortable. The rooms overlooking the sea have the best views.

Almost certainly the best hotel in probably the loveliest village in perhaps the most wonderful area of Greece! I wish I could give this place more than five stars. This was our second stay, and everything was even more splendid than the first time. From the loo paper to the bed linen, from the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast to Christos's fantastic evening meals, there is nothing here that is not of the highest quality. But here's the thing: until the end of April Clare and Christos are offering Spring Breaks of 65 Euros a night for a double room with breakfast. Maybe a bit early for a beach holiday, but the walking is excellent. It is worth hopping aboard an Easyjet flight to Greece just to take advantage of this offer!

I can't recommend this place highly enough! Extremely clean, helpful owners, amazing decor full of great antiques-and this Green Library room-I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. The garden restaurant looks great for the Summer too!

We have just returned from a 3 nights family holiday at this beautiful hotel where we recieved the nicest hospitality ever from Claire and Christos-whose cooking is faboulous not only for regular people but for vegeterians and Vegans too- all eating at the same meal - what a treat! The hotel has a unique ambiance of a secluded English hotel in Greece with a beautiful warm living room/ library with T.V and games. Our stay was enjoyed by all- young people and older ones - all were delighted and thankful for an unforgetable stay at the Lost Unicorn. We highly recommend it!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Lost Unicorn hotel in Tsagkarada, Pelion, in late August 2012. We recommend it. This is a small gem of a hotel in a cool (much needed in August in Greece!) spot under the shade of ancient plane trees on the east side of Mount Pelion (in the Midlands of Greece). Outside the 100-year old mansion house, breakfast and dinner were served under the green canopy of the trees and grape-entwined pergola, and both the food and service were excellent. I particularly recall delicious starters (try the manouri cheese with fresh figs - wonderful) and mains (their coq au vin and lamb dishes were delicious). The Pelion-produced red wine they stock is also well worth it. Despite the excellent food in the hotel, the hosts (Christos and Clare) also provide honest advice about other places to eat (we followed their advice and everything lived up to their explanations, including a great fish taverna along Ag. Ioannis), as well as a stocked library to peruse (I opted for travel books), and even a friendly cat and dog to pet (in case like us you were missing your own pets at home). The rooms have traditional wood furniture with intricate bedding, small verandas perfect for two and are spotlessly clean. Our room was not air conditioned but I didn't miss it and was able to sleep through the night, as the temperature here is cooler than what you usually find in Greece. Overall, this spot is ideal if you want a calm atmosphere, a quiet retreat from the more usual Greek summer noise and bustle of beach-based holidays. Pelion is well worth the visit, and if you do, you should make the Lost Unicorn an essential part of your trip.

Wonderful boutique hotel located next to the largest tree of Tsagaratha. Excellent breakfast, very nice clean rooms, beautiful library and terrace. Can’t find something negative. We stayed three nights and we really loved it!
