“Roast dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014

Popped in with the wife and daughter, probably best to get in early as we got there at 7 and it was packed (very lucky to get a corner table).

We had the roast carvery dinner, very nice with very large portions the restaurant is very clean, staff very friendly and helpful.

We will return next time we go to Kells.

Dear Mark, many thanks for your positive review of your recent stop at the Headfort in Kells. You called on probably one of the busiest days of the year so even better to know that you enjoyed your meal with us despite being so busy. We cook everything freshly with locally sourced produce for the carvery and we hope that we manage to provide a consistent experience for those who stop with us in Kells on a regular basis, we hope to welcome you back again soon, kind regards Olivia

We had our hen party here on 6th Aug and I would highly recommend the Headfort Arms for any occasion. The staff were fantastic, friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious and the food was out of this world. I'll definitely be back again.

Following a one night stay in the hotel, I wouldn't return. I found check in quite a slow process with only one receptionist on during check in time. She was very pleasant but she did not provide information on where to have breakfast the next morning, we had to figure that out for ourselves.

The room we had was so spacious and lovely and clean and I had a great night sleep. However only shampoo, no shower gel is provided in the bathroom shower.

The food for dinner in the hotel is absolutely delicious with fantastic presentation and the staff were lovely. However it was breakfast the next morning that really was so disappointing. When we sat down for breakfast nobody approached our table, we were waiting about 15 minutes for a menu, one of the group then asked one of the waitresses for a menu twice, she said she would bring them down on the two occasions. 40 minutes after we initially asked for menus she came over to the table, took our orders but she was incredibly rude. And the food took ages to arrive at our table, such an unpleasant experience which is a shame.

Check out was very prompt.

Many thanks for your review of your recent stay which is much appreciated. Thank you for your positive feeback in relation to food and amenities during your time here. It was a very busy time on check in and regrettable that you did not receive information on arrival, it is high on our list of priorities and so much so that we have recently set up a regional information point in our lobby three days a week. We take your feedback on breakfast experience seriously and constructively. This has been discussed with the breakfast team and procedures have been reviewed, the one thing we pride ourselves on a homely reception on all encounters so we never like to think that could be compromised especially when you particularily enjoyed dinner and a restful nights stay! We do hope that you will return and if you do consider it, please contact myself directly on booking and we will ensure the best of true Irish Hospitality for your stay, kind regards Olivia

32 of us just back from a hen weekend in Headfort Arms. A brilliant time was had by all.
Staff went above and beyond for us and we were so well looked after. Rooms spotless, food excellant and staff the best we have ever come across. A special thanks to Mary on reception who has helped us to organise the best hen party ever for our sister. Kevin and Alan in the Keltic Bar were fantastic and looked after us all so well.
We went to Buck Mooney's ranch on Saturday were we howled with laughter for the whole afternoon. What a brilliant day out!!! Thanks to Sheila and all the staff at Bucks for ensuring we all had a day to remember.
Our evening meal on saturday for all 32 of us was beautiful. We were all seated together in a private room that looked fantastic with floral arrangements and candles on the table. The staff who looked after us were brilliant and could'nt do enough for us.
Thank you so much to everyone at Headfort Arms for a brilliant weekend.
The best Hen party we have ever experienced.
We look forward to returning again.

Stayed here as we attended a friends wedding in a nearby hotel. The staff here organised our bus to and from the wedding, gave us a late breakfast and late checkout at no extra cost. The rooms were comfortable, clean and very reasonable.
Very enjoyable stay.
I also noticed an excellend spa deal that i would return for!

On arrival at the Hotel we were met by a manager we were a bit early so we went to the bar. It was a fine big bar with plenty of seating. When it was time for the wedding we were escorted to a special room done up to the nines. There were lots of flowers beautiful table cloth all the chairs were covered and set out like a small church. After service we left the room and returned to the bar. we had not time to get comfy and were called for our meal the table was BEAUTIFUL and we had our own waiters it was a great evening. I would like to thank Trish she was great and helped in every way.

Room Tip: Did not stay the night in this hotel stayed with our Daughter house nearby.
