“Not quite and pricey”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

Had a meal with a colleague whilst staying at the hotel for business. The food was ok, nothing special. Tiramisu was particularly disappointing, though. Cost €40 per person incl 1 glass of wine so I consider it overpriced for what it was. The restaurant was full of bus-loads of tourists so the restaurant was rather noisy. No atmosphere at all.

“Great family day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

Popped into trim today with my wife and our 9 month old. We stopped off at this hotel situated right beside the castle and had a lovely meal. The food was so nice and the staff friendly that we popped back after our walk for some coffee and cake in the barista cafe. Yum yum! & Good value too..:)

Keep up the good work guys. We'll definitely be back again.

Btw lovin Trim town what a pretty place.

“Not good.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We ate in the bar/lounge. Guinness tasted warm. We ordered a burger, fajitas (spicy) and salmon and a side salad. The fajitas where not spicey despite being asured that they would be, the chicken (fajitas) was very tough. The salmon was really oily but ok, the noodles accompanying it were drenched in oil. We ordered soy sauce which never arrived and it took 15 minutes for a small bottle of prosecco to arrive. The burger was fine. It is a shame as the hotel looks lovely and location is magnificent.

“Great service and view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

We were a party of 11 and stayed here July 29th and 30th 2014. The hotel is grand but old. There have been upgrades to the bathrooms such as vessel sinks and good quality beds. This hotel was really quite nice. Comfortable, clean and the rooms were spacious.

The front desk staff were pleasant as were the bar staff. We ordered drinks and took them up to the terrace (floor 3) to take pics and sit on the rooftop with the Castle Trim in the background.... excellent experience!

The breakfast was great, hot and self serve with excellent coffee!

Parking was free and the restaurants within walking distance offered great choice!

I put the poor value rating due to the fact that taking into account the Canadian currency conversion, for the price you could get so much more in Canada and in other countries... but this isn't a reflection on the hotel, more on the currency. it's just expensive, but no more than any other hotel in Ireland and trip advisor doesn't let you remove the rating once you have clicked the circles other wise I would have left it blank.

Would stay again no doubt!
