My mom, sister & I traveled to Ireland for a 2 week adventure and Trim was our first night in Ireland. We had an early flight that landed in Dublin & rented our car & drove straight to Highfield House in Trim. We were warmly welcomed & treated to warm scones & tea seated near the lovely fireplace. Our room was very nice & comfortable. We loved the heated towel rack and liked having the small table with 2 chairs to relax after sight seeing. Highfield had the absolute best traditional irish breakfast we had our whole trip! Geraldine was so gracious and ensured we had a great time in Trim. The location was perfect and an easy walk to Trim castle, the Boyne river and city center. Trim was also a great place to stay while exploring County Meath especially Newgrange and Kells high cross. I would definitely return to Trim and the only place to stay would be Highfield House.

Stayed: December 2013

We recently returned from a trip to Ireland. We are a family group of five adults and one infant. We spent two wonderful nights at Highfield House. It was not only perfectly located and beautiful both inside and out, but the woman in charge, Geraldine, was the nicest innkeeper who went out of her way to accommodate us including making sure we had access to the refrigerator for the baby, greeting us with scones upon our arrival, accommodating our request for an early breakfast on the day of our departure, and going so far as to mail back to the US my son-in-law's jacket, which he had left behind in our haste. Trim is a lovely town, but staying at Highfield house was one of its highlights.

Nice and welcoming staff, delicious Tea and scone at arrival, Clean, warm and cosy room with en-suite bathroom, super breakfast and very good service. Geraldine (the hostess) even lended me an adapter for my electric devices as I had forgotten my own back in Norway. Would love to come back for another stay!

My husband and I liked Highfield House and the area around Trim so much that we extended our stay by two days. Geraldine is a fantastic host, so friendly, warm and helpful. Her B&B is spacious, beautifully decorated and welcoming. It is a very short, lovely walk from Trim Castle, and convenient to Hill of Tara, Looughcrew, Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. Our room was beautiful and perfect; we had great internet. The breakfasts were first class in a bright attractive breakfast room. Most wonderful of all is Geraldine. She is a gem. We will certainly be back again.

Our favourite place to stay was the last night of an amazing holiday in Ireland. The immaculate room, delicious breakfast and very helpful staff made it a perfect ending to our trip.Staff took time during a busy breakfast period to help us find a missing passport enabling us to catch our flight home.We have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending Highfield House. You will not be disappointed.Trim is a great place to stay and catch a plane at Dublin airport the next day. The castle is well worth seeing and walking around town is very pleasant.

A nice convenient beautiful place to stay. Was easy walk to all things in Trim. Great location for site seeing in the north of Dublin. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. They even loaned me a camera cover for the rain. They made sure we got breakfast early enough to make our flight home. The drive to the airport from this location is short and avoids all the traffic of Dublin. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms were nice that we saw.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The location is terrific, walkable to lots of activities in Trim and an easy drive to the Dublin airport without Dublin traffic. The inn is beautifully decorated with lots of character and the rooms nicely appointed. Remodeled modern ensuite bathrooms are lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We were most impressed by the service. The innkeeper was willing to set out plates in the dining room late in the evening so we could enjoy cake for a family member's birthday and made breakfast available half an hour earlier so we could make a flight. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
