“Nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2012

Very nice view. Own secured parking. Clean and comfy room. Friendly service. The hotel is located bit far from Sorrento, but hotel has free shutle service. Be early at the breakfast othervise you could end up hungry.

Just got back from Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Due Golfi. Special mention to Giovanna and Guiseppi who went out of their ways to help us get to Naples early in the morning. Have never had such willing help from front desk staff despite traveling far and wide. Loved Sorrento and all on offer in the vicinity but especially loved going up into the amazing mountain air each evening, does great things for the soul.

Room Tip: Try it if you want something special

Just got back from 1 week at this hotel and had a good time.
Food nothing to shout about but clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
Great views over the bay of Naples.
Lovely little village just 5 minutes walk away.
You must visit Orlando s bar in the village the guy is a true gentleman and you will get a very big welcome.
May go back one day.

Book a sea view room and you could spend a lot of time - day or night - on the balcony gazing over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius quite happily, given good weather. The room was comfortable and clean; the breakfasts well laid out and reasonably varied; the service superb with helpful and resourceful staff on reception (eg arranging a shuttle bus detour to connect with our airport bus from Sorrento). The shuttles kept to an efficient timetable though there were only 6 a day - other local buses stopped at the hotel gate. We only took one evening meal - good quality but limited choice and rather expensive.
There was even Sky Sports in the bar for football enthusiasts.
Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Sea view worth the extra

Loved this hotel, we booked a sea view room which was definately worth it. Hotel staff were really friendly and accomodating. We booked a transfer from Naples airport to Sorrento and then on the advice of other reviewers made sure we were booked on the hotels bus to take us up to Sant'Agata. Our airport transfer was late and we missed the hotel bus but after a quick call to the hotel the driver turned back to come and get us, not expected but a nice surprise!

We stayed here from the 14th to the 28th of October 2011. When we arrived late, delayed flight, a meal was waiting for us in our room with a bottle of wine. This displays the level of customer care in the hotel. We were allocated a room overlooking the entrance and requested a room overlooking the bay after the first night. This was money well spent for the upgrade, the views are spectacular. The breakfasts will set you up for the day and the evening meals, although limited in choice, are very tasty. The restaurant staff are exceptional and will offer alternatives if the menu is not suitable. The one area that lets the hotel down is the lounge area, it has fantastic views but no character. We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Overlooking the bay

We stayed here from the 23rd October 2011 to the 27th October. The room was good, but not exceptional, however we were paying much less than for an equivalent room in a hotel in Sorrento itself. The service in the hotel is probably the best we have ever had - and that's having stayed in many hotels in many countries. All the staff, without exception, went out of their way to make us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. Amalia is super-efficient and Sylvie was a delight throughout our stay. Francesca and Giuseppe were also very friendly and efficient and tried very hard to please.
One minor criticism would be the lack of tea or coffee in the room, but Luigi, the barman is very accomodating and we could take coffee up to our room. Some excellent restaurants nearby too. In St Agata the restaurant Da Mimi (near the church) was superb, serving exceptional quality food with great service to match. We also tried Il Borgo, which was a very good meal too. The great thing about Il Borgo is that they offer a free pick-up service to and from the restaurant. Beware the Sita buses - they can often be full if you want to get to Amalfi / Positano from the hotel. It's probably best to go into Sorrento on the free hotel shuttle and then get the Sita bus back past the hotel and on to Amalfi. Overall a great hotel and a beatiful location.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 310. All those with a "view" had a stunning view of the sea and bays. Th...
