Grand Hotel Due Golfi
Certificate of Excellence

This hotel has a beautiful view, is very clean and is well maintained. The service in the restaurant was very good and the food was typical of other Italian hotel restaurants. However, we found the wifi service to be simply terrible. My husband needed internet access for his business while we traveled, and he had to leave late at night to go to another hotel lobby so that he could work.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the water!

Little more to add to the other reviews here, other than to emphasise that it really is worth paying extra for a sea-view room (at the *back* of the hotel, not the front as one other reviewer says): the view from the balcony over Sorrento, Vesuvius and the whole Bay of Naples round to Ischia is simply stunning and alone is worth the trip! As for the hotel itself, this is a good, well-kept and well-run hotel with good facilities and lovely staff who genuinely seem to enjoy working there and for whom nothing is too much trouble. The hotel caters I think for an older clientele, certainly judging from the twice-weekly entertainment (good quality, just not my style). Not a lot to do for children who might find the shuttle down to the town tiresome. Ignore the older TA reviews as there has clearly been a major refurb in the last few years and all rooms have good aircon. The other thing is that Sant'Agata quite high in the hills so is much cooler and less humid than Sorrento which is at sea level, though the down-side is that the thunderstorms (common in the hot weather of July/August) are ferocious! In summary we had a fantastic stay there and will return!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and ask for a sea-view room

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of July. Absolutely wonderful relaxing experience. Superb friendly helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. We stayed half board thinking we might eat out some nights. We didn't as the food was so good, varied interesting and delicious. Quality waitering and service. Fantastic views over the bays of Naples. The hotel courtesy bus service is reliable and allows you the best of both worlds, speedy access to the hustle and bustle of Sorrento and the views and tranquility of the Due Golfi. We can't praise it enough.

We have just spent one week in the hotel and it was fantastic, it was out of the centre of Sorrento but there is a bus about every 30 mins to the hotel public transport, but it is worth the travel back to the hotel its in the hills with the most fantastic views of the centre of Sorrento and the harbours watching the ships coming and going. the food and the staff in restaurant at the hotel are so good and nothing is a problem there is a vast amount of buffet food in the breakfast menu, and the dinner menu in the evening is delightful and if you don't fancy anything on the menu just ask and they will do there best to get you what you wish for I must say its the best hotel I ever stopped in and I will be going back next year. and its is a four star hotel at a good price for the service you will receive.

Room Tip: we stopped in room 302 so we were at the side of the hotel with fantastic views.

Nice four star hotel. Good service and excellent typical Italian food. The rooms were comfortable and clean. In the bar you have an excellent view over the bay of Sorrento. I would also recommend having dinner here as the service is very fluent. The hotel is located about 15min outside the city of Sorrento. For the transfers to Sorrento and back to the hotel a free shuttle is provided on a regular base of time. Further the pool is well maintained and child-friendly. To be recommended!

Spent one week in early June and loved the service, food and location. Free shuttle bus worked really well but a mid afternoon service would be helpful. Rooms comfortable and well equipped with effective and silent aircon.

Staff were especially helpful and friendly.

We would recommend this to people looking for a great time and good value for money.
