What can I say other than a perfect location and the most unbelievable welcome from Roberta and Filippo which extended down to their staff. Can't fault anything at all, nothing was too much trouble with the owners going out of their way to please. Without doubt, highly recommended! You will not find a better place to stay in Salo.

Room Tip: As everyone has said, the lake view rooms are a must.

The hotel was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The owners and all of the staff were very friendly and bent over backwards to help; we have rarely experienced this quality of service, and were made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious, very comfortable and well appointed with good views from the balcony. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Position was excellent - just a few metres from the lake steamer landing, and 2 minutes from the centre of town; good restaurants are on the doorstep. Easy to get round the lake on the steamers, and only an hour or so from Bergamo airport. We would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Worth paying extra for the spacious Superior Rooms with balcony and lake view.

We have just spent a week staying at the Hotel Vigna. The hotel has to be one of the friendliest, best run hotels we have stayed at anywhere in the world. It is delightfully positioned on the edge of Lake Garda, with Salo and its restaurants on your doorstep. Travel to other locations on the lake and adjacent cities was very easy.
The hotel is immaculate and our room was spacious and inviting.
From the moment we arrived to when we left we found our hosts and their staff friendly and very helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
If you are visiting Lake Garda or its environs we would have no hesitation in recommending the Vigna as a 'must-stay' hotel. For sure we will be back!!

Salo, Hotel Vigna, and the delightful Roberta, we fell in love with them all. Salo because of its enviable position on Lake Garda and its pristine appearance, Hotel Vigna for its ambience and consistently helpful service, and Roberta and Philipo who could not do enough to help you.

Room Tip: Much has been said about the rooms with a view over the Lake. We took a contrary view and opted for...

Roberta & Filippo are the perfect host from the moment we arrived they made us feel at home. The village of Salo on Lago di Garda is a special place we stayed 3 nights but we wish we would have stayed for a week. For people visiting from North America you should really stay at this hotel it is wonderful in every way. The Deluxe Lake View rooms looking out on the lake are very relaxing plus there is a nice deck to sit and watch the world go by.
Dianella who served breakfast each morning is a delight and will prepare eggs to your taste.
We hope to return a stay longer on our next trip to Italy.

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake View room they are all good.

We have just returned from a ten night stay at this wonderful hotel and could not praise it highly enough. Filippo, Roberta and their fabulous team, did everything to make our holiday, my wife's birthday and our anniversary very special. We had popped into the hotel on a stay to Lake Garda in 2012, Alice the receptionist was so nice and made such a great first impression that my wife insisted on reading the hotel reviews and booked on our return to the UK.
Prior to our arrival we received a prompt response to our questions on special dietary requirements, driving instructions and recommendations for local restaurants.
From the second we pressed the buzzer, to gain access for the car, to the moment we left everything was wonderful.
I would recommend that you pay that little extra for a lake view with a sun terrace. The whole hotel was spotless, our room had plenty of storage, a lovely bathroom with complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, there was also a flat screen TV not that we watched it. The only thing to remember is there is no pool and breakfast is the only meal available although there is a bar with an indoor and outdoor lounge area with either Filippo or Roberta available at all times - sadly Alice was off during our stay.
On arrival Filippo kindly parked our car in the secure car park which is just up the road. A lovely bottle of local sparkling wine was promptly delivered to our room a lovely gesture on my wife's birthday and greatly appreciated. A reservation had been made at a local restaurant by the hotel on our behalf and the hotel had already kindly explained our dietary requirements. The hotel had also gone to a lot of trouble to supply gluten free products for my wife at breakfast which was very kind, not that she needed them with the fabulous choice available - cereals, meats, cheese, eggs, breads, yogurts, fruits, pastries.
Filippo and Roberta willingly provided recommendations of places to visit, vineyards, shopping and the daily weather report.
Having never stayed on this side of the lake before - the help with local wines and produce was greatly received. Roberta kindly gave us some local olive oil when we departed.
This is a small family run hotel and there are many clients who return year after year and I can see why, my wife would have rebooked immediately given the chance.
This is not the place to stay if you want a lively noisy holiday-peace and quiet with lots of relaxation are the order of the day. Fabulous location but more importantly wonderful people who make you feel so welcome and special!
