We booked through Thomas Cook a late Neilson ski deal and were offered a week at 4 star Hotel Sport Vittoria in Passo Tonale departing 28th Jan. We are a family Snowboarding experienced and skiing from total beginer to expereinced so a mixed bunch.
Despite arriving about 10pm a plentiful cold buffet was laid on for us. All week the rooms were kept very clean and they were very comfortable albeit basic layout with sufficient storage. The resturant was very good, excellent waiting staff and really nice food for dinner and an extensive breakfast choice buffet style. The bar was nice with a large beer at 4 euros or coke at 2 euros. The Spa Wellness area was the best I've experienced, very well equipped , clean and not overcrowded. We paid extra for massage 30 mins at 30 euros, there were a range of payable services and the massage was excellent. Ski Hire is downstairs very convenient and the ski room was easy access and well ventilated.
All in all we were very very pleased and would possibly go back on account of the excellent hotel, very varied and pleasurable skiing and snowboarding with runs for all abilites. The Neilson staff were very efficient indeed at this resort.
Only one critisism the kids club went on until 1030 pm which was too noisy near the lounge area.

Room Tip: For the price we paid our room was extremely satisfactory but we noticed the other wing was more lux...

We have just returned from this hotel for our annual ski break. I have felt compelled to jot down my thoughts as more often than not you only review if you have a bad time, and this was definitely not the case.
The reception: Always manned, always by friendly employees. I would discount earlier reviews on this matter
Rooms: Warm and quite spacious. Ours had a double bed with a sofa as well. The shower was very powerful, however we could hear the BASE coming from the disco every night (although this did not bother us or any in the group as we are not old or grumpy)
Food: Brilliant! You wont go hungry, we had three vegetarians in our group, all were catered for superbly.
The Spa: They need to put photos of this online, my word. 2 steam rooms, a jacuzzi, a sauna, ice rubs, a chill out room and pool. A visit was paid everyday after the slopes.
Location: Cross the road and your at the first lift. Perfect.
Ski area: Good for all with a good variety.
Would i go again: Without a doubt, yes

Just returned from a weeks skiing booked through Neilson's as a late deal. This
Superb hotel is just across the rd from the slopes. Everything from the location onwards was just was perfect, rooms were always clean & warm, huge choice of food was always very good quality, although waiting until 7.30pm for evening meal was a long wait, but well worth it.
The Spa facilities were just fantastic after a hard day on the slopes and helped bridge the time until your evening meal and was a alternative to the various pares ski happy hours!.
We went with our 11yr old and would say the hotel was best suited to families or couples wanting a quiet holiday, although we could hear the noise from the under hotel nightclub on our 1st floor room, would ask for a room on a higher floor or a room away from the club next time, this really was our only criticism.
skip conditions were OK, its was nice and sunny but it hadn't snowed for 2 weeks and could have done with a bit of fresh snow which we got on our last day:[
The ski area best suited to beginners and intermediates nothing too hairy but enough to give you a challenger from time to time, ski school was very good 2hrs, but it did force you to get up early, 9am start!
Would Definatly recommend and would love to go back.
Prices in the resort and hotel were very reasonable, we brought money back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the nightclub.

Went to passo del tornale on an overnight skitrip when we visited some friends in Milan.
We chose this hotel after reading some of the reviews here on tripad.
On arrival we experienced the female receptionist others have described. She really is horrible. Uninterested, indifferent and obnoxious, also, almost no language skills other than italian.
Room was small, basic, no bathtub.
The pool area was small, poorly staffed and inforced the odd italian tradition of forcing kids to wear a cloth made swimhood when using the pool. I doubt this contraption keep neither the hair nor the pool any cleaner.
The food was acceptable but nothing special, service was fast, not very personal and felt a bit rushed. The hotel seems to give you a personal skistorage in the basement, however the locker room for our ski/snowboard was full of somebodyelses equipment!! After much debate The (grim) girl at the reception gave us another locker to use but it lacked the boot heaters so we ended up keeping our boots in the room.
All in all, this hotel is not worth staying at.
A word about passo del tonale too is in order. I would never go here for more than 2-3 days, max. The area is quite small and poorly laid out, a full week here would be way too much.
Many better options in northern italy.

Standard room very basic so asked to upgrade to a deluxe room. The price of upgrade was very reasonable. The new room was far superior but unfortunately discovered that night that our bedroom was next to the Nightclub entrance with loud music til 3am. When we asked to move again the female receptionist was extremely rude so we had to get the rep to intervene. Once we had been moved to our 3rd room we were very happy with the service and accomodation.

This hotel was so bad I felt compelled to warn others through this site. Instead of the single beds we'd asked for, we discovered our room had bunk beds so narrow they were almost dangerous. There was a foul odour in the room, trickle of a shower, no bedside tables and the windows had no blinds so the room was hit by a flashing neon light throughout the night with daylight streaming in at 6am. On top of that, staff were surly and inflexible. Four star my ****. Avoid.
