“Nice place”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

I don't know which we enjoyed most, the food, friendly staff or the atmosphere, but enjoyed anyway. Place is located at the top of the hill and when the sun sets down, air cooles, wind breezes and evening comes with quietness, you can sit down and truly enjoy your dinner in this family run restaurant.

“Wonderful Tuscan food and hospitality”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

It is always great to return to Osteria l"Orciaia. It is a family run restaurant with typical - but very well-prepared - Tuscan dishes. The mozzarella with the baby plum tomatoes is something that I really look forward to eating every time. I had wonderful homemade ravioli with a fresh tomato sauce and homemade fresh sausages. My husband had pici and grilled pork - both were excellent. And it is always good to see the wonderful family behind the restaurant - Gino, Simone and Ava.

“Treasure at the top of Bucine.”
Reviewed 19 June 2013

We stayed at Villa La Selva and our host Giovanna recommended this great little place. We were greeted by the owner, Gino, who seated us quickly. Our server, Julia, attended to our group's
needs with her limited English. They specialize in Sienese style pork ragu sauces, fresh pasta, sautéed spinach with cheese, and house and bottled wines. Eating outside was very relaxing and the food was delicious! Do not miss this treasure!

Had a fun and incredible dinner here! Gino is great - a very memorable evening. We even stayed late talking with Gino and other guests, he took us all in the back to see the giant olive oil bins. The restaurant has great character, too.

“Excellent food”
Reviewed 20 November 2012

We have eaten here a number of times and have found the food here to be better than the run-of-the mill osteria. The restaurant is small and reservations are recommended (Marco at the casteletto can do this for you). The foods are somewhat seasonal so the menu changes. Kathy has had the ribolitto which is absolutely wonderful. I've had their chianina beef and it is really wonderful. If you don't like salt, be sure to mention this to your waiter. Our first time here the foods were excellent, but a bit on the salty side (this in 2009). In 2012, we had the bruschetta plate that is quite good, but watch out, what looks like olive tapinade is pate... This time I had a thick slab of chianina veal that was delicious and my wife had veal marsala that was delicious. For a conterno, I had grilled melanzane and my wife had spinach cooked with parmesan cheese. Both were quite good but hers was better.

Even though this osteria pretty much has a captive audience in hotel guests of the Casteletto Montebinichi, it stands on its own with any other osteria in Italy.
