I have stayed here twice . Both times the staff (family owned) were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean , the breakfast buffet(continental) more than adequate with fresh baked breads etc. The restaurant is very authentic and the food good. Good value and nice setting. Stayed with Family and friends.I would stay here again anytime I am in the region. Prices fair.

The village is pleasant with friendly locals. Easy accessible to most of Tuscany by car.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view across the valley.

The hotel was lovely and the staff really friendly. However, we encountered a lot of problems due to being given the wrong information prior to our arrival. "20 mins from Florence" "train and bus easy", etc. It was 30 minute bus ride to the train station at Prato and then a 30 minute train journey to Florence. More importantly, we were not told before we arrived that 15th August was a holiday in Italy and nothing was open and no buses running so we found ourselves stranded with no buses and no food (hotel restaurant was closed) for the whole day. This was a serious situation due to health issues. We also suffered a sleepless night due to the noise. If you have a car and don't mind driving some distance to the main cities then it's a lovely place to stay but not if you are depending on public transport and certainly not on 15th August :-( Make sure you get all the correct relevant information before you book.

Dear Guest,

I thank you for had wrote about the friendly staff and the lovely hotel where staff and management work with hard passion, but I am afraid you had not told the truth writing your feedback.

First of all, you did not write that you arrived at Florence train station on August 14th (when public transports where working as usual) but it was you that missed to catch the bus, so the owner of the hotel had to pick up you with her private car. Every information about travel distance and times we gave you by e-mail before your arrival was detailed and correct, as anyone can check easily on internet.

Secondly, even if August 15th is a bank holiday day in Italy, restaurant was opened at lunch and dinner time. When you asked us for something to eat at 5 p.m. we proposed you a typical Tuscan dish made with local cuts (Tuscan ham and salami), selected and different kind of Tuscan cheeses and bread. You refused without explanation.

Thirdly, if you really had health troubles we would help you in every moment since our reception is opened 24/7 and the doctor’s office is right in our same square, but you did not ask anything about it. And I do not know why you “suffered a sleepless night” since it was a very quite night without any noise.

Finally, if you really think that have a car is so important for spend a pleasant stay in our hotel, why did you not rent one? I am sure we made the best we could do for you but your intention was to find a good excuse for leave the hotel before your check-out day.

I kindly suggest you to think about your experience and I beg you to write the truth on your next review.

Best regards.

My wife and I was here for 3 days in 2010, we wasn't sure it was the right place, as the signs were not that visible, and even less visible the parking area :-)
Inside it was very nice, wooden cieling, wodden floors, it smelled very italian there :) the room we had was large, aircon worked perfectly and bathroom was plenty in size.
The breakfast was typical italian, so it was good, there is an pool at the hotel, and an sauna, but in august, well it is hot enough without sauna.
The staff was friendly, and spoke english, they told about the town, where to go and history. They gave tips and tricks to travel to Firenze and where to diner.
I can recommand this hotel, if you are passing through or have 2-3 days in Tuscana to kill :)

Room Tip: Rooms away from square and road is to recommand´, the square can be noisy in the mornings, but it is...

I've been there just for a night, but I would extend my time there.. the position is great, good views on tuscan hills, a medieval small town. Hotel's premises are nice, a very old building in Carmignano's central (small) place, refurbished (and renewed) with good style. Breakfasts are great (continental). The only point I didn't like very much is the dimension of the bathroom, but it was beautiful and clean.

We chose Villa S. Michele as our location to explore tuscany for 8 days,
We were expecting a quite normal ***star hotel and were more than surprised by the service and the restaurant in this very nice hotel.
The staff is very professional and even took notice of my birthday during our stay with a special message.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean and nicely decorated.
But the greatest plus is the restaurant ENOTECA TORRE with a choice of delicious meals, good wine, good atmosphere, very attentive and friendly personnel and a great chef. And all this at reasonable price.
After trying various other restaurants during our stay we decided to enjoy most of our meals in this lovely atmosphere and had a variety of very delicious 3 course meals.
We

For a hotel billed as three star the service was five star. We loved our stay, Tommasso, Chiadra & Grazie treated us so well. Dinner in the Antico Torre was superb and the wine was incredible, again with fantastic service. We will remember our stay there as one of the best experiences we had while in Italy. The hotel was a great blend of 15th century charm with 21st century fittings. We spent many enjoyable hours reading in the garden and soaking up the peace and ambience of Tuscany. We would definitely stay here again!

It is a beautifully placed hotel on the country side where you get a nice view or both Florence and olive tree fields. The hotel is a completely remodelled old house. The staff are extremely nice and helpful and the breakfast was the best I havd had throughout my travels! I would highly recommend to stay here especially if you would like a feeling of Italian countryside!
