“Tuscan hospitality and charm at its best!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We were there for the third time, and stayed again in the Fienile appartment as always.
Why do we keep coming back to this place, which is a little bit isolated from nearby towns, up on the hill (which results in a splendid view), which requires that you have a car?
The answer is simple, it's because the hospitality offered by Maria, Agnese, and last but not least Paola is so warm and generous that arriving at the Villa is like coming home for me and my family.
They will do everything in their power to make your stay a success.
And the venue is of course an exquisite historical landmark with beautiful gardens, a nice pool, and surrounded by olive trees. Everything is well maintained and cleaned by the staff, and the setting is thankfully used for weddings (in the authentic chapel). If you like peace and quiet, this is the place to be.

A wonderful, old but well maintained villa with lots of charm. Perfect location to be based for a few days and do day trips, managed by two wonderful and friendly ladies. Dinner is not available every evening but if it is you should stay there - Paola from the kitchen is a superstar!

We recently traveled to Villa Belpoggio with two children in tow and stayed for 10 days and could have easily never left. The Villa is in a wonderful location set high up on a hill in the midst of olive fields. The Villa itself is a beautifully restored building. All of the rooms are very clean and well kept. The grounds are full of lavender and local flowers all caringly looked after by the Villas gardener. The entire villa staff is attentive, warm and welcoming and will do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. With two children around they went way out of their way to make our stay just perfect. We are so grateful to have found this treasure and look forward to visiting again soon!

We loved our stay at the VB in May of 2014. The staff was amazing! Thank you to Maria and Agnese for all you did to help us find our way around and for being such welcoming hostess!! Paula you were so kind and wonderful and took such care in all you did! The Villa is beautiful and all the rooms are so charming. The grounds are beautiful and our favorite part was eating breakfast every morning outside on the patio. We had a beautiful view and so many flowers to enjoy. We enjoyed a cooking class too and had the most wonderful lunch afterwards! I highly recommend the coking class! Thank you Chef Alessandra. VB was a place to remember!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Piccilo suite and it was lovely but the location over the patio was noisy at times...

We had our dream wedding at Villa Belpoggio on May 10, 2014 and stayed for a total of 5 nights. When Dan and I arrived at the villa we were speechless. Our breath was taken away by the beautiful villa and stunning views. Maria, Agnese and Paula are wonderful and made us and our 21 guests feel at home during our stay (we had the villa all to ourselves).

We selected the villa based on prior TripAdvisor reviews and didn't see it in person before arriving for our wedding week. As you can imagine, I was a little nervous upon arrival, hoping that everything was as I had envisioned. We were thrilled that the villa in real life is even better than we imagined from all of the photos and reviews online. Everything was very green and lush with bright yellow, red, white, and pink roses, irises and jasmine in full bloom and lemon trees. There is so much attention to detail and everything was immaculate. We loved the decor inside and out. The common areas are beautiful and cozy, and everyone loved gathering in the living room to relax and be together. The dining room (a restored olive oil cellar) is beautiful and we were served delicious breakfasts and dinners by Paula. The outside terrace is surrounded by blooming roses and we loved having lunch there. The rooftop pool has a stunning view of the countryside and our guests had lots of fun soaking up the sun in it. All of the rooms are different and special in their own way. We stayed in the Terracotta room, a very large room with 3 windows (perfect for getting ready on the day of the wedding with lots of sunlight and views!) and a large bathroom with a beautiful clawfoot bathtub. I loved sitting on the windowsill looking out over the view. We slept wonderfully and were woken by lovely chirping birds and roosters. Very Tuscan feeling!

Maria helped me plan everything for the wedding as I didn't use a wedding planner and recommended the officiant (Diane Rossi), photographer (Emma Innocenti) and caterer (Delizia Ricevimenti), who were all incredible. Upon our arrival, Maria sat down with Dan and I and went through all of the details and called all of our vendors to confirm their arrival times and make any last minute decisions. She made us feel comfortable and at ease with her professionalism and cheery attitude so that we could just relax and enjoy our time at the villa with friends and family. Maria and I had many phone conversations the months leading up to the wedding and she gave lots of advice and recommendations and planned a lovely dinner for us at Il Canto del Maggio and our welcome Friday night dinner in the villa’s dining room. She even helped us DJ the ceremony music which was definitely going well beyond the extra mile. :)

Maria, Agnese, and Paula were very kind to us and our guests and we felt like they were family by the end of the stay. It is difficult to describe how kind and helpful they were to us, it is something I read about in many prior reviews and until experiencing it for myself, I didn't appreciate how much of a difference it can make for your stay.

Thank you very much for everything!
Bella and Dan

We had a three night 'Delicious Tuscany' stay at the Villa, which included an evening meal on the first day, wine tasting on the second and cookery course on the third. The villa itself is beautiful, very well restored and maintained, and is high up in the hills surrounded by stunning scenery. However the real highlight are the staff, Maria, Agnese and Paula, who are all extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Speaking English is no problem, nothing was ever too much trouble for them and they really made our trip special.

The food was lovely - the meal on the first day was a full 4 courses with wine, and the cookery course with Alessandro the chef on the last day was so much fun. Starting off with a tour around the market in the wonderfully picturesque village of Loro Ciuffenna with Maria, that afternoon we produced what was actually quite a complex menu, for 4 people, where we were the only students in the kitchen along with Alessandro. He would tell us about the food, how we were going to prepare it, give us a demonstration and then we'd have a go ourselves.....the three of us cooked together rather than separately, which made it a great experience. It was made all the better by Alessandro himself, clearly a talented chef and a really nice guy. That afternoon we were joined by Maria to eat what we had cooked, along with the villa's owners who were so charming and engaging - it was fantastic to hear all about the olive harvest and some of the history behind the area, the food and Italian way of life.

I have to say we were a little underwhelmed by the wine tasting - perhaps we had misunderstood, or misread, but our expectation was we would taste several wines and either transport would be included or it would be close by (transport was an assumption, rather than anything we'd been told or read). The place itself was about a 20 minute drive away (I drove!), and was more a tour of a Monastary which stored wine, with 3 wines to taste at the end. That said, it was a pleasant way to spend as hour or so and the tour guide was again very friendly.

The Delicious Tuscany trip is excellent value for money, we would do it again in a heartbeat because we had the most perfect time during our stay. I can't stress enough how very special the staff are, or how beautiful the villa and it's surroundings are. It's ideally located too, close to Florence, Arezzo, Sienna etc. with great scenic drives.

Thank you Maria, Agnese and Paula for a wonderful stay!

The villa is absolute astonishing. The pictures don’t give enough credit to it, lights over the valley, sounds of the birds and blooming flowers. And, most importantly, Maria, Agnese and Paula, the “soul of the villa”.
We had our daughter’s wedding at the villa and spent a week there, and we wished to stay much longer. It was a perfect wedding, right out of the movie.
Everything is well thought through. All spaces are very comfortable and elegant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in a beautiful dining room or on the terrace. We also had dinner at the two nearby restaurants and everything was exceptional. Villa is conveniently located, we had day trips to Florence, Siena and Cortona. But the best time we had when we stayed at the villa and just relaxed.
Thank you Maria, Agnese and Paula for our wonderful stay!
