We stayed at Manzi from 23rd to 29th August.
Clean and secure rooms; service with a smile.
If you are lucky like us to have a room with a balcony facing the sea you will have fantastic views" what a sun set". We strolled the road in front of the hotel from beginning of the marina to Trennia about 4 miles and could not see a better hotel. The staff did not speak much English, but that didn’t stop them to understand you and provide what you need (long live sign language). About 20 minutes bus journey from Pisa Centrale station for 1.75 Euro; frequent service till late at night.
I forgot the price is fantastically cheap for what you get.

This was a little gem, booked last minute. Although it was rainy when we were there, it's located right on the sea and every room boasts a sea-view. Clean, large bedroom. Lots of hot water. Free street parking. Friendly staff.

The Hotel Manzi is a great little hotel in Pisa Marina that is much cheaper than other hotels within Pisa itself. It is located about 11km from the centre of Pisa and the Leaning Tower, and sits right along the waters edge in the marina.

My wife and I had a bit of trouble finding the hotel in our hire car, mainly due to the driver not printing out any directions but relying on memory from seeing maps. Once we found the hotel we were very surprised with the room and view provided.

The elderly gentleman at reception spoke mainly Italian, but can speak English, and was very friendly. The room provided in the hotel was, like the rest of the hotel, a little old but in good condition. However the view that we had was just spectacular as we were looking over the waters of the Ligurian Sea which was highlighted on our first night by the excellent sunset (see the photo) and the second night by a spectacular lightning storm.

The room itself was quite large, however it did not contain a fridge, and the bathroom was a little dated but quite usable. The hotel has a lift and also you can get access to the rooftop which provides a decent view if you are not on the third floor like we were.

Breakfast was a small buffet, but nice, and there were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel with The Cliff recommended by the man at reception (and was quite nice).

All in all, a good cheaper hotel outside of the centre of Pisa that my wife and I are glad we stayed at.

Your on the beach, so ideal for a family with younger children. However, this hotel like many others in Italy has marble/ceramic flooring in the rooms and halls, which means that any sounds are amplified like a megaphone. And if your familiar with Italians (most of the occupiers in the hotel), then you should know that they tend to have a much higher volume of speech than the rest of the West. Plus their women all dress chic, hence high heels, so it can sound like horses in the hallway late at night.
Other than that small noise complaint the place is really clean, in the heart of an Italian Marina, with the kindest staff. Your also 1 hour from Florence via car and 8 minutes from Pisa. They close the main street on weekends in the Marina, and the locals stroll in it with gelato's and pizza's in their hands. Quit a social and enjoyable experience. oh, and the toilet is in the shower with you. Which is at odds with what is associated with cleansiness, but, you get used to it. Just close the lid and pretend it is not there ;)
One more thing, when you book the place call them up and ask for a room with air conditioning for an extra 5 euros a night. You'll definately need this in the summer and not all rooms are air conditioned.

Bottom line...Excellent Hotel. Stayed here on short notice in late Dec 07. Price was fantastic, great ocean views, nice family owned, clean , safe comfortable rooms, incredible terrace on roof, CNN on TV. Would be nice if they had breakfast but there are great restaurants within a block. Recommend Cliffs for dinner and the little place a few doors to the north for breakfast. Parking on the street was easy, but it was Dec.
Would absolutely stay again.
